YOUNG JEEZY, DRAKE REMAIN IN TOP 5 ON BILLBOARD CHART

Drake continues to enjoy his reign on the Billboard 200 chart as his sophomore album, Take Care, has remained at the number two spot for the second consecutive week. The disc reportedly moved an additional 42-thousand copies, bringing its total sales to over 1.2-million copies. Elsewhere, Young Jeezy’s latest album, TM103: Hustlerz Ambition, has slipped to number four and raked in over 334-thousand units since being released in December.

LUPE FIASCO’S LASERS GOES GOLD

Lupe Fiasco announced on his website that his latest album, Lasers, has officially reached gold status. The rapper’s effort has amassed sales over 500-thousand copies. As previously reported, Lasers was one of the few rap albums to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in 2011.

SWIZZ BEATZ WORKING ON NEW MIXTAPE

Aside from raising his son with Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz is still working on his highly anticipated third album, Haute Living. Since the LP currently has no release date, the hitmaker wrote on Twitter that fans will get new music in the form of a mixtape. The free project will surface soon and we’ll keep you posted with more updates.

ALICIA KEYS UP FOR DIRECTOR’S GUILD AWARDS

According to SingersRoom.com, Alicia Keys has received a nomination for the upcoming Directors Guild of America Awards. The singer recently made her directorial debut with a movie called Lili, which was created for Lifetime’s short film series on breast cancer. Keys is up for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television and Mini-Series category. The ceremony takes place on January 28th in Los Angeles.

BEYONCE’S BABY CALLED “SATAN” BY CHURCH VANDAL

People seem to have mixed opinions about Jay-Z and Beyonce’s new baby, Blue Ivy Carter. According to TMZ, an unidentified vandal recently defaced a sign for the North Carolina Baptist church and made it read: “Beyonce had her baby. Satan is on Earth.” The pastor, who claims the church was unaware of the incident, told TMZ that he received numerous complaints and removed the sign immediately.

Solange recently lashed out at critics of the birth of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. The singer shared on her Twitter page, “It has really gotten out of hand. I’ve been doing my best at keeping my mouth shut….but the ignorance is really sad and upsetting.” While she feels hard to not react to false allegations, Solo said of her niece, “The most beautiful girl in the world. JENNIFER HUDSON DENIES RUMORS OF PRECIOUS ROLE

We previously reported that Jennifer Hudson turned down the lead role in Precious due to the excessive weight gain she would have to put on. However, according to TMZ, the singer claimed that putting on extra pounds was not the reason she declined the offer. She explained, “I turned it down because I felt it was just too graphic for me at that time.” Interestingly enough, Hudson told Dateline that she passed because she “would have had to be the big girl again.” If you remember, Hudson agreed to put on weight to for her character in Dreamgirls and in the upcoming film, Winnie.

Rap-Up.com reports Mary J Blige has just issued a slightly altered visual to her latest single, “Mr Wrong.” This time, the video includes an appearance from Drake, who raps his guest verses at the beginning of the clip. The Rico Love and Jim Jonsin-produced song is lifted from Blige’s latest album, My Life II, which is out now.

According to RihannaDaily.com, Rihanna has just beat out Lady Gaga for the most views on YouTube. The “We Found Love” singer, who already has more Facebook likes that Gaga, has a whopping two-million more views. In related news, Robin’s latest album, Talk That Talk, currently sits at the number six position on the Billboard 200 chart and has sold over 541-thousand to date.

Justin Bieber entered the studio this week to begin working on his new album, Believe. His manager, Scooter Braun, took to Twitter to write that the album “is going to be ridiculous!” The 17-year-old singer recently told V magazine that he wants the album to recall Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveSounds record sonically, but he noted that his lyrics would be a little more PG than the topics Timberlake covered on the effort. Bieber did take a break from recording this week to hit up the Consumer Electronics Show, which is currently under way in Las Vegas.

WOMAN GETS DRAKE’S NAME TATTOOED TO HER HEAD

In Drake’s song “Free Spirit” with Rick Ross, he says on the hook: “Tat my name on you so I know it’s real.” According to MTV.com, a fan has done just that and showed her devotion to Drizzy by getting a tattoo of the rapper’s name on her forehead. Kevin Campbell, the tattoo artist responsible for the ink, told Vibe magazine that the young lady wasn’t drunk and “really psyched and was pretty adamant about putting it on her forehead.” He adds, “She acted as if she had planned it out for a while; though I’m not really sure how much extended coherent thought could actually go into getting such a stupid tattoo on your forehead.”

NEW ACTS ADDED TO VH1 DIVAS

We’ve just learned Anita Baker, Mavis Staples, Wanda Jackson and Ledisi have just been added to the list of performers for this year’s VH1 Divas. In addition, Dolly Parton, Queen Latifah, Terrence Howard, Nas, Common and La La Anthony are all expected to present at the ceremony, which is paying tribute to great cities of soul including Chicago, Detroit, London, Memphis and Philadelphia. Taking place inside New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom, be sure to tune in when VH1 Divas airs Monday, December 19th at 9 PM/8c on VH1.

The headlining “divas” were announced earlier and includes Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Florence + The Machine, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J. and Jill Scott. MYSTIKAL REACTS TO SINGING TO YOUNG MONEY

In a press release, Mystikal issued a statement about his recently deal with Cash Money Records. Similar to Busta Rhymes, the rapper is excited about the new partnership. He stated, “It has been a truly long time since I have felt like a rapper and with this signing, and partnership, Birdman and Slim have given me my life as a rapper back. I am ready to go. I am going to put my red Superman drawers, cape and boots on and go! This is a huge moment for me and I am truly excited to be with Cash Money Records.” Lead by his first single, “Original” featuring Lil Wayne, Mystikal’s next album is expected for a spring 2012 release.

FANTASIA WELCOMES BABY BOY!

According Vibe, Fantasia has reportedly delivery a healthy baby boy at a North Carolina hospital on Tuesday morning. The bundle of joy marks her first child together with her and partner Antwaun Cook, who was allegedly married when they first started dating. The singer has told People.com, “I feel so blessed that my son Dallas Xavier was born healthy, and is a wonderful new addition to our family,” she said. “I thank all my fans for their well wishes and continued support.” The bundle of joy weighed at 7 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches long. Dallas marks her first child together with her and partner Antwaun Cook, who was allegedly married when they first started dating.

MICHAEL JACKSON AUCTION

According to JuliensAuctions.com, personal items from the L-A home where Michael Jackson died in are being auctioned off. The items up for auction include messages from his children, a carved dining table and a Victorian grand piano and more. Other items include an ornate bedroom mirror, on which the late singer wrote: “Train perfection March, April full out May,” in the build up to his planned London comeback gigs, and a shower bench on which Jackson drew a series of stick figures. Contrary to rumors, the bed in which the singer died in will not be included in the sale.

JANELLE MONAE READIES TWO NEW ALBUMS

According to SingersRoom.com, Janelle Monae has big plans for the New Year. Fans can expect the singer to release two new albums which she revealed has “84.799 percent of the writing is done.” As for when the “Tightrope” entertainer will drop the projects, Monae stated, “I will release them according to my soul clock; so I reserve the right to change that. But I will try to stick to the scheduled release dates, which I know but can’t say.” We’ll keep you posted.

FLO RIDA IS BACK ON TRACK AFTER DUI

TMZ is reporting that Flo Rida got off lightly from prosecutors for his DUI case. The rapper was busted in Miami Beach back in June on suspicion of DUI, according to Police his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit. Flo Rida’s attorney got the judge to send Flo to a first-time offenders program instead of jail. The program, called Back on Track, requires for Flo Rida to complete substance abuse classes, counseling, community service and drug testing. If Flo completes all of the requirements, prosecutors will know the DUI charge down to the lesser charge of reckless driving.

WALE TEAMS UP WITH THE WIZARDS FOR NBA EVENT

Wale will perform a free show in Washington D.C. on Saturday. The Maryland native is helping the Washington Wizards kick off their 2012 season with Fan Fest, on Saturday night. The event will feature face painters, balloon artists, magicians and much more. Free popcorn and soda will be provided to all courtesy of the Washington Wizards and the event will include autographed items for fans. FANTASIA MIGHT LOSE LEADING BIOPIC ROLE?

According to the NY Post, a very pregnant Fantasia might be on the verge of losing the lead role in the upcoming biopic about gospel legend, Mahalia Jackson. Executive producer, Adrian Taylor revealed, “The [Jackson] family thinks if Fantasia plays the role, it’s going to sully the name of Mahalia. They think she’s got the wrong image, having a child out of wedlock.” In addition, filming has been pushed back until after she gives birth, which might cause the director to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Due to the delay, producers are considering replacing Fanny. We’ll keep you posted.

YELAWOLF REVEALS ALBUM COVER, SWITCHES LAUNCH 

According to XXLMag.com, Yelawolf has released the artwork for his debut album, Radioactive. In addition, the Shady Records artist has pushed the project back from October 25th to November 21st. He explained in a statement, “I needed to add some important finishing touches to the album which resulted in the new release date.” He continued, “I have some surprises in store for the fans that have to be seen before the album comes out. It’s definitely worth the wait.”

· The original launch date was September 27th.

RIHANNA TAKES SUBWAY TO HER OWN CONCERT

Wanna know how Rihanna arrived to her concert at London’s O2 Arena? According to PinkIsTheNewBlog.com, the pop princess was spotted taking a subway train to get to her concert in time. Ri Ri rode alongside other passengers and even took pictures when they recognized her. Here’s what one bystander had to say about her: “I was in Rihanna’s carriage on the Jubilee line. I didn’t really twig at first because you wouldn’t expect to see a superstar travelling so casually on the tube.” The spy adds, “But then me and my friend realized it WAS her. She was so cool and friendly and happy to pose for photos. I asked why on earth she was taking the Tube to her own concert. And she said she’d always wanted to go on the Tube and decided to do it as it was the first night of her tour.”

According to Rap-Up.com, Rihanna is rumored to have a new man in her life. While overseas the singer was spotted with Dudley O’Shaughnessy, who is the model that co-stars in her video for “We Found Love.” In the pictures, the usually paparazzi-ready star was camera shy and shielded her face from photogs. Hmmm, looks like time will tell if this is in fact her new beau.

LUDACRIS DELAYS MIXTAPE RELEASE 

According to his official Twitter page, Ludacris has pushed back the release date for his upcoming mixtape, 1.21 Gigawatts. Luda tweeted that the project, which was supposed to be released on October 12th, “will be worth the wait, trust!” The rapper delayed the tape so that he could add guest verses from Rick Ross and Meek Mill. Be sure to download 1.21 Gigawatts on it’s new release date, November 15th.

T-BOZ FROM TLC BATTLES BRAIN TUMOR? 

We knew T-Boz from TLC suffered from Sickle Cell Anemia, but we had no idea that in her past, the singer also battled for her life, after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. She recalled to CNN, “I started having headaches, but they were so frequent, something was wrong.” Luckily, a doctor was able to remove the tumor just in time and she’s had minor side effects since the surgery.

· T-Boz is back in the studio working on a solo album.

JENNIFER LOPEZ TEAMS WITH WILL.I.AM ON “HARD”

RICK ROSS IS BEING SUED OVER DEADLY PITBULLS

According to TMZ, Rick Ross is facing a lawsuit for allegedly owning the pitbulls that killed his neighbor’s pet. According to the suit, three of the rapper’s dogs escaped from Rozay’s Atlanta mansion and attacked the neighbor’s three-year-old Yorkshire Terrier. As a result, Ross is being sued for 15-thousand dollars in damages and court costs. He is yet to apologize for the incident.

· The puppy was so badly injured that the neighbor was forced to euthanize it.

Despite lackluster first week sales of his latest album, Only One Flo (Part 1), we’re confident that Flo Rida will turn things around. Why? According to Rap-Up.com, Game has spilled about what fans can expect of his upcoming video for “Pot of Gold.” The rapper said of the Chris Brown-assisted song that the visual walks “back through the days when I didn’t have anything, taking my son with me and showing him how we used to live.” The Bryan Barber-directed clip was shot in Compton. Expect it to premiere in the coming days.

JENNIFER LOPEZ TALKS REDONE AND LADY GAGA!

Jennifer Lopez will release her new album, Love?, tomorrow. Along with the platinum single, “On The Floor” featuring Pitbull, the album features a Lady Gaga-penned tune called “Hypnotico,” which was produced by Gaga collaborator RedOne. Lopez told us how they hooked up.

 “I heard a demo not with her (Lady Gaga) on it, but with someone else on it. And I really liked it and I asked who produced this and who’s involved with this and I was told it was RedOne and Lady Gaga and that is how RedOne and I actually started working together. I got on the phone with him and I told him I really liked the track and he’s like, ‘If you and I work together, I’d like to actually get into the studio with you and really, really create stuff from scratch,’ which is what we ended up doing.”

RedOne also produced “On The Floor” and three other songs on the album. J. Lo’s Love? is out tomorrow.

According to XXLMag.com, Lil Wayne is looking to pull in impressive first
week sales despite being locked up in prison. The rapper’s newly released I
Am Not A Human Being EP is projected to sell over 90-thousand copies. The
set is only available digitally now but is estimated to move over
225-thousand units when it’s physically released in stores on October 25th.
The rapper may be serving time for weapons possession in New York’s Rikers
Island, but he can rest easy knowing fans still love and support him!

MISTRIAL FOR BUJU BANTON’S DRUG CASE

According to Billboard.com, Buju Banton’s drug case has reportedly been
declared a mistrial by a Florida judge. The reggae artist’s lawyer has
requested that the entertainer be released on bail after being held without
bond since his December 10th arrest. After five days of jury deliberation,
jurors failed to deliver a verdict connecting Buju to allegedly conspiring
to buy and distribute cocaine to an undercover police officer.

NICK CANNON IS PREPARED TO FIGHT EMINEM

According to CeleBuzz.com, Nick Cannon has challenged Eminem to take their
feud to the boxing ring at the Joe Louis Arena, which is located in Em’s
home city of Detroit. On his New York radio show, the funnyman stated that
the fight would finally end the feud over his wife, Mariah Carey. Cannon
also tweeted. “I don’t have nothing to lose! If I get beat up no one would
be surprised… It will just be more material for my stand up!”

*       A post on Cannon’s official site reads:  “The time has come! Boys
talk the talk, but men walk the walk. Nick has laid down the challenge to
meet Eminem in the ring. Nick and the rest of the crew on Rollin’ With Nick
Cannon think it’s time for the feud to be over once and for all. And to draw

FANTASIA ANNOUNCES TOUR DATES

We’ve previously reported that Fantasia has decided to team up with Eric
Benet and Kandi Burruss for a fall tour. According to SingersRoom.com, the
outing will kick off in November 4th at Virginia’s Landmark Theater and end
on New Year’s Day at St. Louis’ Fox Theatre. The tour will help further
promote the American Idol’s Back to Me album, the crooner’s long-delayed
Lost In Time LP and former Xscape member’s upcoming Kandi Koated effort.

*       Due to her suicide attempt, Fantasia told us she wasn’t able
to celebrate the success of her latest album, Back To Me.
However, she said in a press release that she’s “so excited about this

CHRIS BROWN READIES “DEUCES” REMIX

Chris Brown recently gave fans a sneak peek of the remix of his
chart-topping single, “Deuces,” during his Ustream session. The
revamped-record will now feature verses from Fabolous, T.I., Drake, Kanye
West and André 3000. You can expect the new version to premiere this Friday
and Breezy added, “We’re gonna shoot the video for that. The video’s gonna
be sick.”

OBAMA LISTENS TO LIL WAYNE AND NAS!

In the new issue of Rolling Stone, President Barack Obama admits that his
personal aide has helped improved his “rap palate.” He added that “Jay-Z

little Lil Wayne.” Obama stated that his daughters, Malia and Sasha, “are
now getting old enough to where they start hipping me to things.”

ROCK HALL ANNOUNCES 2011 INDUCTION NOMINEES

Yesterday, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced the nominees for 2011
induction.  Among the musicians in the running are Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi,
the Beastie Boys, Neil Diamond, the J. Geils Band, Tom Waits, Donovan, LL
Cool J and Donna Summer.  Now that the nominees have been selected, ballots
will be sent to the five-hundred rock hall voters, including previous
inductees.  Those voters will select who they think should be inducted and
the top vote getters will be announced in December.  Then, on March 14th in
New York City, this year’s crop will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall

WYCLEF JEAN RETURNS HOME TO REST

We previously reported Wyclef Jean was hospitalized for stress and fatigue
in a New Jersey hospital. A rep for the Fugees member said the musician will
remain there for part of the week; however his publicist announced that he’s
already returned home to “recuperate,” adding that he “will be back to work
in about a week, and until then the family requests that he be allowed to
genuinely rest.” The news comes after Jean was not permitted to run for
president of Haiti due to residency requirements.

*       Jean family said in a statement, “Wyclef Jean has had an extremely
grueling three months – truly an exhausting eight months, since the
earthquake when he recommitted himself to our homeland and his passion for
our people. He is currently suffering the effects of lack of sleep and
stress, global travel, even the endless public eye, and has asked that his
fans and supporters bear with him for the next several days as he regains
his physical health and stamina.”

QUINCY JONES PRAISES AMY WINEHOUSE

Amy Winehouse has received some very kind words from a music legend.  In an
interview with Rolling Stone, producer Quincy Jones said that the embattled
singer-songwriter “has a great voice” and that she’s so much more talented
then almost anyone else, that it’s like “she’s from another planet.”
Winehouse and Mark Ronson teamed up to do a version of the song “It’s My
Party” on a tribute album for Jones.

NICOLE FROM PCD CONFIRMED ON THE X-FACTOR

Nicole Scherzinger will indeed be a judge when The X-Factor comes to
America.  According to Deadline.com, TV personality Piers Morgan has
confirmed that both the Pussycat Dolls lead singer and British pop star
Cheryl Cole will be joining Simon Cowell on the show.  Morgan joked that the
former American Idol judge “will love a couple of feisty brunettes fighting
over him.”

GAGA ADDS DATES TO 2011 TOUR

It’s a long way down the road, but Lady Gaga is already adding tour dates to
her 2011 Monster Ball trek.  The pop star has added six more shows in April,

BLACK EYED PEAS PREP NEW ALBUM

The Black Eyed Peas scored one of the biggest albums over the past two years
with The E.N.D. The record is still selling over eight-thousand copies a
week and has already sold over 2.7-million copies since its release back in
June 2009.  According to Rap-Up.com, the Peas are preparing their new album,
titled The Beginning, which will arrive in November.  That effort contains
12 tracks with four songs produced by DJ Ammo, three by will.i.am and two by
David Guetta, who also produced their number one hit “I Gotta Feeling.”  The
Black Eyed Peas will resume their The E.N.D. World Tour in Mexico tomorrow
before heading to Brazil for eight shows.  The Beginning is due out on
November 30th.

BRUNO MARS & MAROON 5 TOP iTUNES CHART

Bruno Mars has the most-downloaded song on iTunes this week with “Just the
Way You Are.” Far East Movement’s “Like a G6” featuring Cataracs & Dev flies
to number two and lands at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this
week, marking the L-A-based band’s first top ten hit.  Rihanna’s “Only Girl
(In the World),” Nelly’s “Just a Dream and Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream”
round out the top five.  Maroon 5 top the iTunes album chart with their new
effort Hands All Over, followed by Zac Brown Band’s You Get What You Give,

for her upcoming album, which has been titled Love Me Back. The disc, which

DRAKE TALKS THE HIGHLIGHT OF HIS CAREER

Aside from gaining fame from his So Far Gone mixtape, going platinum with Thank Me Later and working alongside Lil Wayne, Drake revealed what stands out as the best moment of his career. The “Best I Ever Had” rapper took a

PLANET MICHAEL

According to Billboard, the Michael Jackson estate has entered a licensing
deal with a Los Angeles company that will create an online virtual world
based on the King of Pop called Planet Michael.  The multi-player online
game will contain about 100-thosuand active users who will be able to
collect and trade virtual Jackson merchandise and earn credits by performing
challenges related to his music and dance moves.  The estate will work with
game publisher SEE Virtual Worlds to develop the game for release in late
2011. As in other virtual worlds, players can replenish their game accounts
using real money.

KOL, SNOOP AND MORE TALK STONER MOVIES

A new book titled Reefer Movie Madness: The Ultimate Stoner Film Guide is
set to come out next month. The book features interviews with tons of famous
people including Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill, Snoop Dogg, Melissa
Etheridge and more, all talking about their favorite stoner movies. It’ll
land on shelves on October 1st.

LADY GAGA’S SPEECH!

As we previously reported, Lady Gaga took the stage at a rally against the military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy in Maine on Monday.  She was there to support the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network and unveiled a speech
called “The Prime Rib of America” for a crowd of over four-thousand people, which included college students and activists.

B.O.B. TO OPEN FOR JAY-Z AND EMINEM

According to Billboard.com, B.o.B has landed a great opening gig. The
“Airplanes” rapper is expected to warm up the stage for the first two Jay-Z
and Eminem concerts at Comerica Park in Detroit. Bobby Ray’s manager
recently tweeted that he will be at the Tiger Stadium tonight getting the
crowd ready for the two of hip hop’s biggest rappers.

FANTASIA NUMBER TWO BILLBOARD 200 CHART

Fantasia managed to earn the highest charting debut of her career despite
her recent suicide attempt. The American Idol alumna’s third album, Back to
Me, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 with sales surpassing
117-thousand copies. The singer recently told us why everyone will be able
to enjoy the disc in its entirety. Fans can expect the
second official single off the effort to be “I’m Doin’ Me” instead of the
previously confirmed song “Man of The House.”

KANYE TO DROP MOVIE WITH NEW ALBUM

MTV News reports Kanye West has filmed a movie in Prague to accompany his
upcoming album, Dark Twisted Fantasy. ‘Ye recently tweeted: “Been shooting
16 hour days. … I’m so excited. … It’s like a child’s delusions become
reality.” It’s still unknown what the flick is about.

YOUNG BUCK GOES BANKRUPT, SUING 50 CENT?

Young Buck recently filed for bankruptcy due to owing 300-thousand in back
taxes. The former G-Unit rapper is not only looking to get his finances in
order, but he’s looking to sue 50 Cent, G-Unit Records and ex-business
manager Bruce Seckendorf for breach of contract. His publicist told
XXLMag.com that “there is no lawsuit filed yet.” We’ll keep you posted.

BEYONCE STILL MANAGED BY HER FATHER

There have been conflicting reports suggesting that Beyonce and her
father/manager, Mathew Knowles, have ended their working relationship due to
personal issues. However, a rep from Music World Entertainment has released
the following statement, “Contrary to false rumors online, Beyoncé and her
manager Mathew Knowles unequivocally have had and continue to have a close
personal and business relationship. Mathew Knowles is the sole and exclusive
manager of Beyoncé.” There you have it.

JAMIE FOXX ISN’T SURPRISED BY DRAKE’S SUCCESS

Drake’s debut album, Thank Me Later, has sold an additional 20-thousand

200 chart. The disc has sold over a million copies, but Jamie Foxx recently
told us that he always knew Drizzy was going to be an undeniable force in
hip hop. The rap star is scheduled to perform during

TREY SONGZ EXCITED TO RELEASE PPP

After releasing “Bottoms Up” and “Can’t Be Friends,” many fans might be
wondering what’s the vibe of Trey Songz upcoming album, Passion, Pain &
Pleasure. Similar to his previous effort Ready, the crooner explained how
the title really explains the direction of the project.

KELLY PRICE EXPLAINS SUPER GROUP SPLIT

During an interview with SingersRoom.com, Kelly Price revealed what happened
to the Queen Project with Tamia and Deborah Cox.  The soulful singer
explained that even though “the entire album was recorded in two weeks,” the
group failed because “too many people involved and the end result was we
were unable to get it done in a time frame that would have allowed us to
work the record and tour properly.” She hopes they’ll get to “release it at
a later date with proper touring,” but Kelly is focused on dropping her
first album in five years very soon.

FANTASIA OPENS UP ABOUT SUICIDE ATTEMPT

The Associated Press reports that Fantasia was so upset about allegations that she broke up a marriage, she was ready to die.  Nearly two weeks after she attempted suicide, Fantasia stated that if she killed herself she,
“would have been fine with that.”  The former American Idol champ took a mixture of aspirin and sleeping pills after she was named in divorce papers as the cause of a couple’s breakup. The 26-year-old said she was so
devastated about lies being spread about her that she couldn’t function anymore. As for the accusations that she knowingly dated Antwaun Cook even though he was married with kids, she said he was already separated when they
started dating.  While she called Cook a good guy and a “great friend,” she said they are no longer together and haven’t been for a while.  Fantasia’s new album, Back to Me, is out now.

EMINEM TO PERFORM AT MTV VMAS

Eminem will perform at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards on September 12th at
9 PM! The rapper joins an already impressive list of performers including
Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Drake, B.o.B and Florence and The Machine. Funny
lady Chelsea Handler has been tapped to host the music awards show with the
likes of Ke$ha, Nicki Minaj, Emma Stone, Penn Badgley and others confirmed
to present awards. Make sure to tune in to MTV Sunday, September 12th at 9
PM Eastern to see the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

KANYE PROMISES A NEW SONG PER WEEK

Kanye West took to Twitter over the weekend to announce he plans to release
a new track every week between now and the holidays.  He wrote, “I know
y’all need the music so I’m dropping 1 new song every weekend until Xmas. It
may be my song, it may be a new Jay song, etc.” West said he’s calling his
new-music express “G.O.O.D. Fridays” because “y’all know every Friday y’all
gone have a new joint from our family. We look at the game completely
different now … It’s about the fans. No more holding back.”

JAY-Z JOINS U2 FOR SHOWS DOWN UNDER

U2.com reports that Jay-Z will join the Irish band on stage when their 360º
tour head to New Zealand and Australia. The rapper will join the Irish band
when they play Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. For more

USHER HINTS AT MORE MUSIC

Usher is currently out promoting his new EP Versus, the sequel to his
platinum release, Raymond v. Raymond. But the “OMG” singer recently hinted
that the EP, slated to hit stores tomorrow, may not be the final chapter in
the Raymond saga. He told ABC News in a backstage interview at last week’s
Good Morning America taping, “There’s an array of new music that you guys
actually haven’t heard.  There’s another episode coming later on this year
as well.” Usher didn’t go into further details about his next release.  We

MARIAH ON IDOL?

Now that Jennifer Lopez is likely out as a possible American Idol judge,
Rap-Up.com is reporting that Mariah Carey may be in the running to take a
seat in the judge’s chair.  E! News is reporting that Carey wants the job.
Her husband, Nick Cannon, who is enjoying his stint as the host of America’s
Got Talent on TV, has also stated that Carey would like to join Idol.

WIZ KHALIFA TURNS DOWN DRAKE TOUR

According to Rap-Up.com, Wiz Khalifa politely declined an invitation from
Drake to head out on the road.  During Drake’s Ustream broadcast last week,
the rapper shared his desire to have Khalifa perform alongside him during
his new tour. Wiz instead will embark on his own solo tour, titled Waken
Baken, which hits more than 55 cities across the states beginning in
September.

FANTASIA WANTS YOU TO GET HER ALBUM!

Put simply, if you haven’t heard Fantasia’s latest album, Back To Me, you’re
missing out. You can tell that the singer had complete creative control for

NICKI MINAJ TALKS PINK FRIDAY

MTV News caught up with Nicki Minaj to find out more on the status of her
much anticipated debut album, Pink Friday. The leading lady from Young Money
shared that she’s making great progress with her first studio effort. The “Your Love” singer’s disc is scheduled to arrive
just three days before Black Friday, which is the biggest shopping day of
the year.

BOW WOW IS CONFIDENT IN LIL WAYNE’S RETURN

The newest member of Young Money Entertainment, Bow Wow, spoke about how he
thinks prison will impact Lil Wayne. The Lottery Ticket star is confident
Weezy will bounce back as if he never left.  On
November 4th, Wayne is expected to walk out of New York’s Riker’s Island
after completing his sentence which stemmed from weapons possession charges.

FAITH EVANS ADDRESSES DUI

According to SingersRoom.com, Faith Evans took to Twitter to update her fans
following her arrest over the weekend.  The singer was pulled over and
arrested on suspicion of DUI at a checkpoint in Marina Del Rey, California
over the weekend.  Her new album, Something About Faith, will be released
October 5th.

“Hi Faithfuls…I am on the set of my new video for
my single ‘Gone Already.’ I’m sure by now most of you heard that I was
detained on suspicion of a DUI. After completing a full day of wardrobe prep I was stopped at a random checkpoint. I’m fine and well, and thank you for your prayers, kind words and concerns. I can’t wait for you all to see my new video & look forward to hearing from you guys…Fizzy.”

MJ LAWSUIT THROWN OUT

According to SingersRoom.com, lawyers from Michael Jackson’s estate are
celebrating after a New York judge dismissed a 300-million dollar lawsuit
filed by lawyers for Allgood Entertainment. The company accused Jackson and
his agent for reneging on planned Jackson Five shows and teaming up with AEG
Live to produce a series of concerts in London. According to TMZ, a judge
sided with the Jacksons last week, throwing out the lawsuit because Jackson
and his brothers never signed off on the deal.
