According to MTV NewsAmy Winehouse was found dead in her North London home from an apparent drug overdose. The troubled singer, who battled an on-going drug addiction, was only 27 years old. The news comes just months after Amy checked into rehabilitation back in May. We’ll keep you posted with further updates!

Shortly after Amy Winehouse passed away, her family released a statement regarding the tragic news. Her parents and brother stated, “Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives. We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time.” The late singer was already deceased by the time her body guard found her body in her bed. A rep for Winehouse said in a statement, “She was in her bedroom after saying she wanted to sleep and when he went to wake her he found she wasn’t breathing. He called the emergency services straight away. He was very shocked. At this stage no one knows how she died. She died alone in bed.” The cause of her death is still unknown.

According to EOnline.com, AmyWinehouse’s untimely death shares something in common with musical legends including Jim MorrisonJanis JoplinJimi HendrixBrian Jones and Kurt Cobain. All of these fallen artists, like Amy, were only 27 years old when they passed away. TMZ reports the cause of death for the “Rehab” singer is still unknown at this time.


According to his Twitter account, Drake has announced that the lead single off his next studio project will be “Headlines.” Drizzy re-teamed with producers Boi-1da and Noah “40” Shebib to craft the first offering from Take Care, which drops on October 24th. In addition, Drake revealed to RollingStone.com three song titles that will appear on the disc: “Shot For Me,” “Free Spirit” featuring Rick Ross and “The Real Her” featuring Lil Wayne.

As the launch date for Watch The Throne draws near, CyHi Da Prynce recalled being in the studio while Kanye West and Jay-Z recorded the disc. The G.O.O.D. Music rapper revealed, “The whole process was crazy to sit there and watch both of them come together and put music together as a group, somewhat.” CyHi added, “The way that Kanye presents the records as a producer, and at the same time seeing Jay produce records – or have input on the record as a producer, and watching them combine they styles together.” Head over to HipHopDX.com for more.

Cee-Lo Green’s tongue-in-cheek clip for his hit, “Forget You,” is nominated for Best Male Video at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Cee-Lo told us the song was is about his frustration with his record label after they said they were not happy with the songs he had recorded for his latest album.

“I did it to be ridiculous. I did it to be spiteful in all honesty. I did it to be ridiculous and I wanted to spite the label and be like, ‘Blah, blah, blah, take that’ and ironically enough it was the one (song) they loved.” 

– The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards will take place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 28th at 9 PM Eastern.

– Cee-Lo has some stiff competition in the Best Male Video Category. He is up against Eminem, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber and Kanye West.

· Rihanna now has over 41-million Facebook fans while Gaga has over 40-million. This week, Rihanna’s fanbase grew by 650-thousand Facebook fans and over 114-thousand follows on Twitter. Meanwhile, Gaga has over five-million more followers than Rihanna.
