CHRIS BROWN’S “LOOK AT ME NOW” IS DOUBLE PLATINUM

Chris Brown recently tweeted that his hit single, “Look At Me Now” featuring Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne, has gone double platinum and says it seems like good things always happen whenever he teams up with WeezyThe song if lifted from C Breezy’s latest F.A.M.E album, which is available in stores now.

·       Chris wrote, “Look at me now is double platinum thx to all my fans.”

DR DRE’S DETOX IS ALMOST DONE?

Apparently, the wait is almost over for the album everyone is dying to hear: Detox. DJ Khalil recently told Billboard.com that Dr Dre’s is hard at work on the project saying the disc is “definitely the most important thing right now, because he is definitely in the final stretch.” The hitmaker adds, “He has the record going, but I’m sure he thinks there are pieces missing still. Until he finds those pieces, maybe he’s not comfortable putting it out yet.”

·       The release date is STILL unknown at this time.

KANYE WORKING ON FASHION LINE

Kanye West is looking to make a profit off of his love for fashion. A source tells U-K’s The Telegraph that Yeezy is planning to launch a clothing line in Paris that will cater to both women and men. There’s no word on when high-end line will be released to the public.

·       The news comes just a few days after West announced that he’s releasing a collection of scarves, which will retails for 300 dollars and up.

DON’T FORGET LIL WAYNE’S UNPLUGGED!

Here’s a friendly reminder letting fans know that Lil Wayne will be featured in the newest installment of MTV2’s Unplugged music series. Be sure to tune in to MTV2 Presents: Lil Wayne Unplugged when it premieres on Sunday, June 12th on MTV2, MTV and MTV.comat 9 PM Eastern and Pacific.

·       The rapper will likely perform classic hits as well as new material off his upcoming album, Tha Cater IV.

·       Weezy’s forthcoming effort will be his ninth album to date.

SWIZZ BEATZ DOESN’T CARE ABOUT ALBUM SALES

While filling us in on the status of his upcoming album, Haute Living, Swizz Beatzrevealed that he’s experimenting with new sounds and says he’s not worrying about how the first week sales for this specific project. Lead by the first single, “Everyday (Coolin’)” featuring Eve, the hitmaker’s project is expected to drop later this summer.

·       Swizz’s project also includes contributions from John Legend, Mary J. Blige, Lenny Kravitz and Lil Wayne.

UPDATE ON SEAN KINGSTON

According to TMZ, Sean Kingston is making great progress following his recent Jet Ski accident in Miami. After being in critical condition inside the trauma ward at a local hospital, a source spills that the singer is more alert and is communicating through nods and sign language. In addition, he has frequent visits from friends and family. The update comes after CNN reported that the “Beautiful Girls” singer will need up to six weeks to make a full recovery.

·       As reported, Sean is suffering from a fractured wrist, broken jaw and water in his lungs.

PHARRELL TO BE HONORED FOR ANIMATED FILM

We’ve just learned Pharrell Williams is expected to receive a prestigious award during the 26th Annual ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards. The famed producer will be honored with the coveted ASCAP Film Music Award for creating the score to the animated film, Despicable Me.  The upcoming event takes place June 23rd at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

GET READY FOR BONAROO!

Bonnaroo is just a few days away and festival goers will begin making their way down to Manchester, Tennessee this week. The annual event kicks off on Friday and the three day event will feature performances from Eminem, Arcade Fire, The Black Keys,Mumford and Sons, Lil Wayne and more. CEE-LO WON’T JUDGE

The Voice is starting to heat up now that the battle-round is over and each of the vocal coaches have four singers.  Cee-Lo Green told us one of the reasons he signed on to the show was that at he didn’t have to judge talent. 

“I myself could and would not ever be the judge of anyone for any particular reason, being that I myself am the exception to the rule and people have embraced me just that way that I am.  We are here to tear down those false idols and images and redefine what’s beautiful and redefine what’s possible and that’s what this show is about and that’s why I am a part of it.”

The Voice, also features Christina Aguilera, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.  It is hosted Carson Daly and  airs tomorrow night at 9 PM Eastern on NBC


NEW EPISODES OF BASKETBALL WIVES AND SINGLE LADIES

Tonight is going to be an exciting one on Vh1.  First, at 8 PM Eastern, there’s a brand new episode of Basketball Wives.  And that’s followed by the premiere of the new show Single Ladies at 9 PM.  Last week we saw Single Ladies the movie, but now we get to see Stacey Dash and company in their hour long romantic-drama every week.  Be sure to tune in tonight beginning at 8 PM Eastern on Vh1.

BORN THIS WAY TO BE NUMBER ONE AGAIN

Lady Gaga’s latest album Born This Way sold 1.1-million copies in its first week in the U-S and is showing no signs of slowing down.  According to Nielsen SoundScan, the pop star is almost certain to spend yet another week on the top of the Billboard 200 chart as early estimates are saying that she’s going to sell at least another 200-thousand copies, a good enough figure to remain at number one.

P!NK WELCOMES A BABY GIRL!

P!nk gave birth to a baby girl on Thursday evening.  She took to Twitter around 11 PM Eastern to announce that she and husband Carey Hart welcomed Willow Sage Hart to the world.  P!nk said “she’s gorgeous, just like her daddy.”
