BEYONCE TITLES FOURTH STUDIO ALBUM

According to Billboard.com, Beyonce has revealed the title for her upcoming fourth studio album. The singer has decided to name the project 4 for significant reasons. The diva explained, “We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me. It’s the day I was born. My mother’s birthday, and a lot of my friends’ birthdays are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date.” In addition, Bey states that she’s recorded “more than 60 songs” for the album and drew inspiration from Earth, Wind & Fire, DeBarge, Lionel Richie, Teena Marie, Jackson 5, New Edition, Adele, Florence + the Machine and Prince. There’s no confirmed release date for the disc or to the visual to her lead single, “Run the World (Girls).”

·  Bey also stated, “I also gave myself more freedom to really belt out some songs, and bring soul singing back: I used a lot of the brassiness and grittiness in my voice that people hear in my live performances, but not necessarily on my records.”

GAME’S “RED NATION” VIDEO BANNED
Game has announced that his upcoming video for “Red Nation” featuring Lil Wayne will be released online today (5/12) via ComptonGame.com. The news comes after the rapper’s clip was reportedly banned from MTV and BET’s airwaves. Game told AllHipHop.com, “No love is lost for BET and MTV. I know they have standards for all ages watching the networks.” He added that he “didn’t want to change the artistic integrity of the music video and with the amount of people watching videos online, I know that all my fans will still be able to find it.”

LAURYN HILL PREPS BOB MARLEY TRIBUTE

According to SingersRoom.com, Lauryn Hill will make a rare televised performance to honor and pay tribute to Bob Marley. The former Fugees member will showcase two songs from the reggae singer’s catalog tonight on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Be sure to tune in at 12:35 AM Eastern on NBC.

· Hill joins a handful of artists, including Chris Cornell, Jennifer Hudson, Jakob Dylan, Lenny Kravitz and Keith Richards, who are confirmed to appear on the show’s week-long tribute to Bob Marley.

· Lauryn has delivered five children with Marley’s son, Rohan.

NICKI MINAJ TO BE HERSELF ON BRITNEY TOUR

According to Billboard.com, Nicki Minaj is promising her fans that just signing on to appear as a supporting act for Britney Spears upcoming tour will not change her. The fem-cee explained that people assume that going on a “pop tour” will alter who she is as an artist. Nicki stated, “I think that’s the biggest misconception. I think people don’t understand that I remain myself, whether I’m on a hip-hop tour or a pop tour.” After noting that 80-percent of the audience during Weezy’s I Am Music II tour was very diverse, Minaj added, “To me, hip-hop is pop. They’ve merged. Everyone listens to rap. I think it’s all the same thing.” Visit Billboard.com for more.

PRE-ORDER LIL WAYNE’S ALBUM NOW

Before Lil Wayne’s much hyped album, Tha Carter IV, hits stores, the rapper has issued the official trailer for the project on YouTube. In the clip, Wayne chronicles the videos from the previous installments of Tha Carter.

MUSIQ SOULCHILD DEBUTS IN TOP 10

With just one single, Musiq Soulchild has landed at the number eight spot on the Billboard 200 chart with his latest album, MusiqInTheMagiq. The “Anything” crooner managed to sell over 34-thousand units during his first week. If you haven’t done so already, be sure to purchase the singer’s 12-track project, which only has one guest spot and it’s with Swizz Beatz.

·  Musiq recently said of the disc, “I like this combination of songs because some of them are pushing me into a slightly different space that I haven’t really been in before. People like to consider it crossover, more pop appeal, however not so much where I’m compromising the integrity of what people know.”

GUCCI GETTING RELEASED FROM JAIL SOON

We previously reported that Gucci Mane was being held in custody after he allegedly pushed an Atlanta woman out of a moving vehicle and violated the terms of his probation. MTV News has learned that he rapper will reportedly be released from Georgia’s DeKalb County Jail at the end of June. Visit MTV.com for more.

WIZ KHALIFA’S “ROLL UP” GOES GOLD

Wiz Khalifa can do no wrong. The rapper’s label, Atlantic Records, has confirmed on Twitter that the digital success of his second single, “Roll Up,” has reached gold status. The song was released just three months ago and marks his second offering to be certified gold.
· To date, Wiz’s latest album, Rolling Papers, has sold over 371-thousand copies.

50 CENT DID DATE CHELSEA HANDLER!

During a recent interview on Piers Morgan Tonight, Chelsea Handler finally spilled that she did have a romantic relationship with 50 Cent. The comedian said of the rapper that they “dated, very casually. He’s a very sweet, nice guy… I was sampling, kind of, the atmosphere, seeing what was out there, and I was satiated.” There’s no word on how long they were involved or what ended their brief fling.

TYLER THE CREATOR ARRESTED!

According to RapRadar.com, Tyler the Creator has reportedly been arrested for disturbing the peace. The Odd Future ringleader was handcuffed by Los Angeles Police and released without any charges being filed. The news comes just a day after the rapper put out his much-anticipated album, Goblin, which is in stores now.
· Tyler later reacted on Twitter by posting, “F**k police, f**k you all I hope you all die.” He later added that he “didn’t do s**t” and was arrested “for no reason.”

BRUNO HITS BACK AT TYLER THE CREATOR

Bruno Mars has responded to Tyler the Creator of Odd Future threatening to “stab” him in the “esophagus” in the group’s song, “Yonkers.”  Bruno spoke to Spin magazine about it, saying that Tyler is going to have to “wait in line” if he wants to stab him, and that comments like that come with success, explaining, “you pick up some fans and a handful of haters along the way.”

Bruno Mars has released a new app for the iPhone and iPod Touch called Bruno Mars Revenge. The app is inspired by the tracks and artwork from his platinum debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans.  It features 10 tracks for players to tap along to including hits “Grenade” and “Just The Way You Are,” and his latest single, “The Lazy Song.” The app is available now on iTunes.

TONI BRAXTON RENEWS BRAXTON FAMILY VALUES

Even though she had apprehensions at first, Toni Braxton’s hit reality show, Braxton Family Values, has just been picked up for a second season. The singer said in a statement, “My family and I are so grateful for the love and support the fans have for the show. We all hoped people could relate to our family dynamic and are thrilled with the positive response we have received.” Toni added, “We are all very much looking forward to bringing you another eventful season of Braxton Family Values.” The news comes as only four episodes from the current season have aired.
· The new season will have 13 episodes produced next year. Be sure to tune in Braxton Family Values every Tuesday at 9 PM Eastern on WE TV.

TINIE TEMPAH TALKS “WRITTEN IN THE STARS”

Tinie Tempah has a hit single called “Written in the Stars,” featuring Eric Turner.  The U-K rapper told us the meaning behind the song. 
“It’s just basically saying in a nut shell that you know I had a dream and I focused on it and it was very, very difficult, it was loads of hurdles to jump over it. But I just kept at it, kept at it and now I am where I am and you can do it too you know.”
Tinie added that he is happy the song is being accepted in the U-S.
“And like I said I’ve been to some different places in America, in Middle America and the fact that they know the song and they can sing the song word for word is out of this world.”
Tinie Tempah will release his debut album, Disc-Overy, on Tuesday.   

BRITNEY SPEARS COMIC BOOK!

Britney Spears is the subject of a new one-off comic book courtesy of Bluewater Productions Inc.’s ongoing Fame series.  Fame has profiled celebrities in the past such as Lady Gaga and actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.  The Spears comic will focus on her rise to stardom, her documented private life and her efforts to be understood.  The 32-page issue, illustrated by Ricardo Jaime, is out now in comic book stores and online retailers.

CHRIS BROWN AND JUSTIN BIEBER SHOOT NEW VID

Chris Brown and Justin Bieber recently shared the stage during Bieber’s Australian tour.  The two performed “Up,” and now, the pair will begin work on a video for Brown’s F.A.M.E. track “Next 2 You.” Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, confirmed the video plans on Twitter.  No word on when the video shoot is or when we can expect to see the clip.  We will keep you posted. 

FAR EAST MOVEMENT TALK LIVE SHOW!

Far East Movement will hit the road this summer with Lil Wayne for the second leg of his I Am Music Tour, kicking off July 13th at the Comcast Theater in Hartford, Connecticut.  We caught up with J-Splif and Kev Nish, who told us what people can expect from their live show.   
(J-Splif) “We love to have performances, we love to experiment with different things during our performances.  You might see five foot ten inch monkey flying out during the show, you might see some strobe lights and some crowd surfing up in area. (Kev Nish) But we have a live DJ, we got DJ Virman and DJ Virman allows us the freedom to switch up beats on the fly and if we do throw in something we are a fan of and remix one of our songs live, it’s thanks to him. Yeah!”   
FM will join Keri Hilson and Lloyd on Lil Wayne’s I Am Music Tour, which wraps in Texas in September.  The group play the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday. 
· Last year, Far East Movement became the first Asian-American group to score a number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with “Like a G6.” 

ADELE BACK ON TOP OF DIGITAL SONGS CHART

1.      “Rolling in the Deep” – Adele“Rolling in the Deep” is back at number one after two weeks at number two.  It has sold over two-million copies.
2.      “E.T.” – Katy Perry featuring Kanye West“E.T.” falls from the top spot to number two selling over 237-thousand copies.  The song has shifted over three-million downloads since it was released three months ago.
3.      “Just a Kiss” – Lady Antebellum“Just a Kiss” debuts at number three, selling over 211-thousand copies.  It is the debut single off Lady A’s upcoming album.
4.      “On The Floor” – Jennifer Lopez featuring PitbullJennifer Lopez’s “On The Floor” has sold over 1.7-million copies since its release 11 weeks ago.
5.      “Lazy Song” – Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars’s “Lazy Song” is down one spot to number five and has just gone platinum, selling over one-million copies.
