YOUNG JEEZY, DRAKE REMAIN IN TOP 5 ON BILLBOARD CHART

Drake continues to enjoy his reign on the Billboard 200 chart as his sophomore album, Take Care, has remained at the number two spot for the second consecutive week. The disc reportedly moved an additional 42-thousand copies, bringing its total sales to over 1.2-million copies. Elsewhere, Young Jeezy’s latest album, TM103: Hustlerz Ambition, has slipped to number four and raked in over 334-thousand units since being released in December.

LUPE FIASCO’S LASERS GOES GOLD

Lupe Fiasco announced on his website that his latest album, Lasers, has officially reached gold status. The rapper’s effort has amassed sales over 500-thousand copies. As previously reported, Lasers was one of the few rap albums to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in 2011.

SWIZZ BEATZ WORKING ON NEW MIXTAPE

Aside from raising his son with Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz is still working on his highly anticipated third album, Haute Living. Since the LP currently has no release date, the hitmaker wrote on Twitter that fans will get new music in the form of a mixtape. The free project will surface soon and we’ll keep you posted with more updates.

According to SingersRoom.com, Alicia Keys has received a nomination for the upcoming Directors Guild of America Awards. The singer recently made her directorial debut with a movie called Lili, which was created for Lifetime’s short film series on breast cancer. Keys is up for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television and Mini-Series category. The ceremony takes place on January 28th in Los Angeles.

BEYONCE’S BABY CALLED “SATAN” BY CHURCH VANDAL

People seem to have mixed opinions about Jay-Z and Beyonce’s new baby, Blue Ivy Carter. According to TMZ, an unidentified vandal recently defaced a sign for the North Carolina Baptist church and made it read: “Beyonce had her baby. Satan is on Earth.” The pastor, who claims the church was unaware of the incident, told TMZ that he received numerous complaints and removed the sign immediately.

Solange recently lashed out at critics of the birth of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. The singer shared on her Twitter page, “It has really gotten out of hand. I’ve been doing my best at keeping my mouth shut….but the ignorance is really sad and upsetting.” While she feels hard to not react to false allegations, Solo said of her niece, “The most beautiful girl in the world. JENNIFER HUDSON DENIES RUMORS OF PRECIOUS ROLE

We previously reported that Jennifer Hudson turned down the lead role in Precious due to the excessive weight gain she would have to put on. However, according to TMZ, the singer claimed that putting on extra pounds was not the reason she declined the offer. She explained, “I turned it down because I felt it was just too graphic for me at that time.” Interestingly enough, Hudson told Dateline that she passed because she “would have had to be the big girl again.” If you remember, Hudson agreed to put on weight to for her character in Dreamgirls and in the upcoming film, Winnie.

Rap-Up.com reports Mary J Blige has just issued a slightly altered visual to her latest single, “Mr Wrong.” This time, the video includes an appearance from Drake, who raps his guest verses at the beginning of the clip. The Rico Love and Jim Jonsin-produced song is lifted from Blige’s latest album, My Life II, which is out now.

According to RihannaDaily.com, Rihanna has just beat out Lady Gaga for the most views on YouTube. The “We Found Love” singer, who already has more Facebook likes that Gaga, has a whopping two-million more views. In related news, Robin’s latest album, Talk That Talk, currently sits at the number six position on the Billboard 200 chart and has sold over 541-thousand to date.

 JUSTIN BIEBER IN THE STUDIO!

Justin Bieber entered the studio this week to begin working on his new album, Believe. His manager, Scooter Braun, took to Twitter to write that the album “is going to be ridiculous!” The 17-year-old singer recently told V magazine that he wants the album to recall Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/LoveSounds record sonically, but he noted that his lyrics would be a little more PG than the topics Timberlake covered on the effort. Bieber did take a break from recording this week to hit up the Consumer Electronics Show, which is currently under way in Las Vegas.

JAY-Z, TIMBALAND HEADS TO COURT OVER “BIG PIMPIN” LAWSUIT

We previously reported Jay-Z and Timbaland were accused of allegedly sampling “Khosara, Khosara” in their hit song, “Big Pimpin.’” The children of a Bollywood composer named Baligh Hamdy filed a lawsuit and a judge recently decided that he case will go to trial. Apparently Hova’s camp only secured the “economic rights” to the song to use the sample, but they did not get permission from Hamdy’s children to sample, loop and rhyme over the original song. While it’s unknown what damages the plaintiff is seeking, a judge wants the jury to decide if Hova profited from performing “Big Pimpin’” during his live shows.

SWIZZ BEATZ TO OPEN ART GALLERY

During an interview with Life + Times, Swizz Beatz has announced plans on opening an art gallery. The hitmaker, who enjoys painting in his spare time, revealed that the gallery will showcase work that he’s collected during his international travels. He explained, “I want my gallery to be for young up and coming artists from around the world that people wouldn’t easily discover,” he said. “I feel like I found the new [Andy] Warhol in Japan, the new [Takashi] Murakami in Hong Kong—not to compare their work so much but as far as [their] thinking outside of the box. I found a couple of sick artists in Africa, in Mexico too.” In related news, he’s working on his upcoming album, Haute Living, which will drop in 2012.

PLIES FOUND LIABLE FOR SHOOTING

We previously reported Plies was facing a 10-million dollar lawsuit stemming from a 2006 shooting inside a nightclub in Gainesville, Florida. We’ve now learned that he rapper and his brother were found civilly liable for the incident that led to five victims getting injured moments before Pies was scheduled to perform at the venue. After the jury deliberated for eight hours, the victims were given a total of 200-thousand dollars.

His lawyer Robert A. Rush previously said in a statement, “The plaintiffs’ claims against my client continue to be without merit, we look forward to having this resolved in a court of justice.”

JANET JACKSON BECOMES FACE OF NUTRISYSTEM

According to her official website, Janet Jackson has announced that she’s the face of the weight loss company, Nutrisystem. The singer, who previously battled with yo-yo dieting and weight gain, is expected to appear in nationwide campaign with her success story. She said in a statement, “Dieting never worked for me, counting calories never worked for me, and denying myself the foods I love never worked for me. I needed a better plan, and I found it with Nutrisystem.” She said, “There are millions of women like me who want to be successful but don’t have the tools to do it on their own. I hope I can help inspire them.” The news comes just a few months after the icon released her latest book, True You, which is out now.

COMMON EXPLAINS WHY KANYE WAS LEFT OFF LP

During an interview with XXLMag.com, Common broke down the reason he failed to collaborate with Kanye West for his upcoming album, The Dreamer/The Believer. Since he’s been a longtime friend with ‘Ye, he wants everyone to know that the disc is being released on Warner Bros. He explained, “It’s on my own imprint as far as Think Common, yes, but I’m still G.O.O.D. Music-affiliated. That’s my family no matter what. Business-wise we just didn’t do the G.O.O.D. Music thing, but ‘Ye is my brother for good.” You can pick up The Dreamer/The Believer on December 20th.

Common’s last three albums, 2005′s Be, 2007′s Finding Forever and 2008′s Universal Mind Control, were all released via West’s G.O.O.D. Music.

AMY WINEHOUSE TO BE HONORED BY VH1 DIVAS CELEBRATES SOUL

Vh1 Divas Celebrates Soul will include a special tribute to Amy Winehouse. It was announced this week that Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine and Wanda Jackson will perform songs in honor of the late British singer. This year’s Divas will also pay tribute to the great cities of soul music, including Chicago, Detroit, London, Memphis and Philadelphia. MADONNA SIGNS THREE ALBUM DEAL WITH INTERSCOPE RECORDS

Madonna has inked a three album deal with Interscope Records and will release her first album in five years in March. The first single from the effort “Gimme All Your Luvin,” will be released the last week in January before she takes the stage at the Superbowl Halftime show on February 5th. Madonna’s upcoming film W.E., which is nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, is scheduled for a wide release on February 3rd.

GUCCI TO DROP NEW MIXTAPE SOON

Now that Gucci Mane has been released from prison, he’s wasting no time to put out new music. Similar to T.I.’s recent announcement, fans can expect La Flare to issue a new mixtape called Gucci Classics 2, which will arrive on or before New Year’s Eve. As previously reported, Gucci just completed a six month sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of battery, two counts of reckless conduct and one of disorderly conduct.

RIHANNA SCORES SEVENTH STRAIGHT WEEK AT NUMBER ONE

According to Billboard, Rihanna matches her longest streak atop the Billboard Hot 100, as “We Found Love,” featuring Calvin Harris, spends a seventh week at number one. She had previously led for seven weeks with “Umbrella,” featuring Jay-Z back in 2007 and as a guest on Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie” last year. LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It” is locked at number two for the sixth straight week and is hot on Rihanna’s heels as it tops the on Digital Songs chart, selling over 149-thosuand downloads. Bruno Mars’ “It Will Rain” remains at number three, while Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” leaps five spots to number four and marks her sixth top five hit from her Teenage Dream album. Flo Rida holds at number five with “Good Feeling.”

“We Found Love” also ties Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” for the longest run at the top this year. The last song to score a longer run at number one was Ke$ha’s “TiK ToK,” which lead the chart for nine weeks back in 2010.

LADY GAGA TOPS FEMALE EARNERS IN 2011

According to Forbes, Lady Gaga is music’s top-earning woman in 2011. Gaga earned 90 million dollars from album sales, touring and endorsements, which doubles the estimated earnings of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, who came in at number two and three respectively. Beyonce raked in a cool 35 million dollars to come in at number four, while Rihanna rounds out the top five with 29 million.

The numbers reflect earnings between May 2010 and 2011.

P!nk, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Adele, Alicia Keys and Britney Spears round out the top ten.

Overall, U2 was Forbes’ top act in music, raking in over 195 million dollars.

While promoting the launch of her new House of Deréon line, Beyonce recently spilled to CNN what she enjoys most about her pregnancy. NE-YO ENGAGED, EXPECTING ANOTHER BABY!

The news is out that Ne-Yo is not only expecting another child with his longtime girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw, but he’s also engaged! Us Weekly confirmed that this will be the singer’s second baby with Shaw, who delivered a healthy baby girl named Madilyn Grace in November 2010. The couple is expected to deliver next month.

BLACK EYED PEAS PREP CONCERT 4 NYC 

The Black Eyed Peas will perform in New York City’s Central Park on September 30th. The Concert 4 NYC was originally scheduled for June 9th, but was canceled due to extreme weather conditions. It will mark the first show in Central Park for the multi-platinum group. The concert will benefit the Robin Hood Foundation and its mission to fight poverty in New York City. Proceeds from the show will also fund the creation of three new sites for The Black Eyed Peas’ Peapod Academies in New York City.

· Individuals who won or purchased tickets for the June 9th concert who want to attend the September 30th show should watch for an email with instructions on how to claim replacement tickets for the concert. A small number of VIP tickets will be available for sale at BlackEyedPeas.RobinHood.org.

T.I. DENIED LEGAL COUNSEL IN PRISON

According to TMZ, T.I. just might have to serve the remainder of his sentence in prison – especially since he has not been allowed to contact his lawyer. The rapper’s lawyer told TMZ that The Federal Bureau of Prisons stated in letter that Tip is “not entitled to legal counsel.” Why? Well, apparently prison officials are still in the process of reviewing what led to him being re-incarcerated. As previously reported, the troubled emcee was released from prison and sent to halfway house only to be locked up again after he was caught conducting business with his manager while en route to the halfway house.

JAY-Z TO HOST CARNIVAL IN NYC

Jay-Z has announced that at the end of the month, he’ll host a lavish carnival-themed benefit for his Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. The New York Daily News reports that the event will help raise funds for people needing financial assistance to attain higher education. Taking place on September 29th, tickets can be purchased for a thousand dollars each via SCFCarnival.com.

· The benefit is being held at Pier 54 in New York City.

KANYE TO DROP WOMEN’S LINE AT PARIS FASHION WEEK

We previously reported that Kanye West was looking to release his first clothing line dedicated specifically for women. During an interview with Paper magazine, Drake gave his honest opinions of JoJo’s remix to “Marvin’s Room.” Drizzy admired the singer for “taking the time to write really potent new lyrics.” He added, “It was really shocking, I think, for her audience since throughout her career she’s been kind of stereotyped as this teen pop star and then she comes out with this different kind of substance.” Drake went on to say, “It’s very rare that people take your song and do it over like that.”

ICE-T TALKS NEW VH1 DOCUMENTARY

On Monday night, we got the chance to speak to Ice-T before the premiere of the Vh1 documentary Planet Rock: The Story of Hip-Hop and the Crack Generation. The film, which includes interviews with Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill’s B-Real, and the Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA and Raekwon, follows the crack epidemic and shows rappers who traded the crack game and for the rap game. Planet Rock: The Story of Hip Hop and the Crack Generation premieres on Vh1 on Sunday at 10 PM Eastern.

PITBULL, DEMI LOVATO WIN ALMA AWARDS

Pitbull and Demi Lovato were among the winners at the 2011 ALMA Awards on Saturday night. The show honors Latino artists for their work in movies, TV and music. Lovato won for Favorite Comedy Actress, TV for Sonny With a Chance, while Pitbull won for Male Musical Artist. The commercial, titled Born of Fire, features the Detroit-born rapper driving through his hometown while his track, “Lose Yourself,” plays in the background. CHRISTINA’S SEAT ON THE VOICE IS SAFE

According to various reports, Christina Aguilera’s position as a vocal coach on The Voice is secure, dismissing earlier reports that she would be fired after the completion of next season’s singing competition. A rumor about Aguilera’s proposed firing erupted after X17 Online reported that producers were unhappy working with her and planned to replace her in third season of the show. An NBC executive cleared the air saying, “There is absolutely no truth to the rumor.” Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee-Lo Green and Blake Shelton will all be back when The Voice returns on Sunday, February 5th, after the Super Bowl.

AMY WINEHOUSE WOULD HAVE BEEN 28 TODAY

Today would have been Amy Winehouse’s 28th birthday. The embattled singer passed away on July 23rd at her home in London, and while the official cause of death is yet to be announced, it’s been ruled out that it was the result of an illegal substance, and her father Mitch revealed that he believes she died from a seizure suffered while going through detox. T.I. BACK IN FEDERAL CUSTODY

After only a day in the semi-real world following months in prison, T.I. is already back in federal custody because of an issue involving his trip from the Arkansas prison to his Atlanta halfway house on a luxury bus on Wednesday, according to T.I.’s lawyer, Steve Sadow.

The Federal Bureau of Prisons confirms to TMZ that the rapper checked into a federal penitentiary in Atlanta last night, because he allegedly misled prison officials into thinking he’d take a low-key mode of transportation from the prison to the halfway house — and a tricked out tour bus isn’t low-key.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ — when a prisoner is incarcerated in a low or medium security prison … prison officials can allow the inmate to use a private, unescorted mode of transportation to travel from the prison facility to the halfway house.

During the process of approving such a transfer, the prisoner must state specifically what mode of transportation he or she will be using. Our sources tell us … T.I. informed prison officials he would be taking some sort of van, but made no mention of the high-end, pimped out tour bus.

We’re told prison officials felt T.I. should have fully disclosed the nature of his party bus. Neither drugs nor alcohol were found on the bus.

T.I.’s wife tells TMZ … multiple prison officials actually saw the tour bus that picked up the rapper yesterday — and even took photos with T.I. in front of it — and NOBODY raised an issue.

Tameka “Tiny” Cottle tells us … when the tour bus rolled up to the Arkansas prison yesterday, prison officials “Walked him over, took pics and told him good luck in life.”

Law enforcement sources also told TMZ when the U.S. Marshals arrived at the halfway house to take T.I. back to prison, the halfway house honcho actually got into an argument with them, saying it was ridiculous to send him back for such an alleged violation. But the Marshals had their orders, and took T.I. back to the pokey.

Sadow tells TMZ, “We are awaiting the opportunity to quickly resolve whatever the issue may be that the Federal Bureau of Prisons has with T.I.’s method of transportation, bus, from Arkansas to Atlanta, so that T.I. can return to the halfway house to complete the remaining days of his sentence.”

T.I. was sentenced in October to 11 months in prison for violating his probation, but was let out early. He was to complete the rest of his sentence in the halfway house.

WHAT’S THE FIRST THING T.I. DID POST-PRISON?

Wanna know what T.I. did after he was released from prison? Well, according to TMZ, the rapper was treated to a home cooked meal prepared by his mother and his Aunt Lita. Since Tip must remain in a halfway house until his sentence is complete, his family brought over a hot plate of food – which included steak, collard greens and mac ‘n cheese. His auntie told the site that he was grateful for the “amazing” meal and revealed that he’s currently “in good spirits.” We can only imagine what his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, brought over.

T.I. TO RELEASE FIRST BOOK SOON!

We previously reported that T.I. was looking to publish his first book, but we had no idea that the project would hit stores next month! According to the AP, the rapper’s upcoming novel, titled Power & Beauty, is a “fictional tale about two childhood friends torn apart by dangerous dealings on the streets of Atlanta.” The book will be available sometime in October via Harper Collins.

KANYE TO BE JAY-Z’S CHILD’S GODFATHER?

Like Nicki Minaj, Kanye West is hoping to become a godparent to Jay-Z and Beyonce’s baby. According to MTV’s Buzzworthy, there are whispers that Yeezy just might become the godfather to the power couple’s unborn child. Though it’s not confirmed, we speculate that ‘Ye is probably on a short list that includes Bey’s sister, Solange, the couple’s favorite couple, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, as well as her former Destiny’s Child bandmate, Kelly Rowland and Hova’s partner in crime, Memphis Bleek.

BEYONCE TURNS 30 THIS WEEKEND!

It’s a great time for Beyonce. Not only has the Houston native released her fourth number one album and announced that she’s expecting her first child with Jay-Z, but the former Destiny’s Child singer is also tuning 30 years old on Sunday. While it’s unknown where the notoriously private entertainer will celebrate this year, we wish her a happy birthday with many more to come.

LIL WAYNE FAN JUMPS ON STAGE

Some people just can’t control themselves. This seemed to be the case for an unidentified Lil Wayne fan that jumped on stage with the mogul at one of his I Am Still Music tour stops. At the very end of his set, an unnamed male concertgoer shared the stage with Weezy for a total of four seconds before being tackled by a security guard at the Denver Comfort Dental amphitheater. During an interview with Uptown magazine, Swizz Beatz touched on what life is like with his second wife, Alicia Keys. DMX CAUGHT WITH DRUGS, REMAINS IN PRISON

This is sad. TMZ reports DMX will remain in prison after he was recently caught with drugs. The rapper, who was scheduled to be released today (7/13), also violated numerous rules inside Arizona’s Yuma State Prison, including failing or refusing a drug test, unauthorized smoking and disorderly conduct. X will now have to stay locked up for an additional week, possibly longer.

· He spent seven months inside for probation violation.

FOXXY BROWN’S MOONING CASE GETS DROPPED

Do you remember when Foxy Brown was arrested after she mooned her neighbor? Well, according to the New York Post, the fem-cee has been cleared of all charges after her accuser, Arlene Raymond, refused to testify. Apparently, Raymond wanted to drop the case and put the matter behind her.

· As previously reported, Brown originally pleaded not guilty to these charges, refusing to comment on the matter.

· If she were convicted of the charges, she could have seen up to seven years in jail.

SEAN KINGSTON LEAVES THE HOSPITAL!

We’ve just learned Snoop Dogg is scheduled to be honored as a BMI Icon at the 2011 BMI Urban Awards. DIDDY SETTLES LAWSUIT FOR NYC SHOOTING

According to the New York Post, Diddy has finally reached a settlement with three victims that were injured inside a New York City nightclub 12 years ago. This happened to be the same incident that actually led to Shyne getting arrested and serving time for weapons passion. Puff reportedly paid one woman 1.8-million dollars and also gave two other club goers a combined total of 550-thousand. As previously reported, Diddy was hosting a party that ended with Shyne firing his weapon and injuring several bystanders.

· This incident was one of the main reasons that his then-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, broke off their relationship.

Enrique Iglesias premiered the music video for “Dirty Dancer” this week. The video features Usher and Lil Wayne in a club where girls “dirty dance” between performance shots of the artists. The song is Iglasias’ sixth single off his 2010 album, Euphoria.

DAVID GUETTA ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM

David Guetta will release his next album, Nothing But The Beat, on August 30th. The “Where Them Girls At” producer will also be headlining this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas on Saturday and Electric Zoo in New York City on September 3rd. The next single from the album, “Little Bad Girl” featuring Ludacris and Taio Cruz, will be released on Tuesday.

DMX TO BE RELEASED FROM PRISON SOON!
DMX will reportedly be released from an Arizona corrections facility on July 1st. The rapper, who is said to be working on a new album, will be under supervision until the August 12th and then be allowed to come and go as he pleases. For just how long X stays out of trouble remains to be seen.

Kelly Rowland has claimed the number one spot on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-hop chart. The singer told us that even though she’s experienced success with European-inspired songs, recording “Motivation” brings her back to her roots. The cut is the first sampling of the direction of her upcoming album, Here I Am.

SWIZZ BEATZ TALKS NEW ALBUM, NEW VIDEO
Swizz Beatz sat down with MTV News to give new details about his forthcoming effort, Haute Living. The hitmaker promises that the disc, which includes contributions from John Legend, Jay-Z, and Swizz’s wife, Alicia Keys, will not disappoint. He said of the upcoming video to his single “Skyscrappers,” which features Kanye West and U2′s Bono, “It’s like an art piece.” The producer added that the visual is “like a documentary of the world as we don’t know it, but kind of know it. You know these things are going on in the world, but you don’t really know to what degree they’re going on in the world.” There’s no word on when the clip will premiere, but none of the artists will be in the video.

KELIS HAS NO REGRETS DIVORCING NAS
Now that Kelis’ divorce from Nas is finalized, the singer sat down with Attitude magazine to talk about life without her former spouse. The mother of the rapper’s child stated, “I’m not a big regret person.” She added, “I’ve been divorced, and I can still say I don’t regret it I’m a big believer that if a bad situation happens, it is a lesson that needs to be learned, just once.” The couple filed for divorce in April on 2009.
•       Kelis also said during the interview, “I’m a mother and I do what I love for a living, and I have enough money to do what I want but not so much that it’s a stress. I think happiness is a momentary feeling but I’m very content. I feel really good.”

JAY-Z GETS OUT OF TRAFFIC TICKETS?
Jay-Z lives above the law…well, when it comes to traffic tickets anyway. According to the New York Daily News, the rapper reportedly had cops fix tickets for him because he’s a huge rap star. The mogul joins other celebrities like A-Rod and Raymond Felton, who were able to manipulate policemen and get off easy because the cops allegedly unlawfully claimed that they “lost the paperwork.”

According to NME.com, will.i.am is going to release a solo album.  Fergie recently told Hollyscoop.com that Will has completed the effort and that it is titled Black Einstein.  No word on a release date but we will keep you posted. 
·       Fergie said: “I believe Will is coming out with a solo album. I’ve heard it. It’s called Black Einstein and it’s amazing.”

GAGA MAY SELL CLOSE TO ONE-MILLION ALBUMS
It should come as no shock to anyone, but it seems that Lady Gaga is on pace to have a very big first week with her new album, Born This Way.  According to HitsDailyDouble.com, the pop star is on track to sell close to one-million copies of the record.  That would unseat Adele’s 21 from the top of the Billboard 200 chart.  We’ll know the exact numbers on Wednesday.
·       Around half of Gaga’s total albums sold are expected to be digital, and the fact that she’s been selling the record for just 99-cent at Amazon.com can only help things.
·       Adele will move down to at least number two on the Billboard chart. Do you think she’ll be able to get back to summit again?

ADELE STILL ON TOP OF HOT 100

Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” maintains the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the third straight week.  Katy Perry’s former chart-topper “E.T.” featuring Kanye West, spends a third week at number two, while Pitbull’s “Give Me Everything” featuring Ne-Yo, AfroJack and Nayer rises four notches to number three.  The Black Eyed Peas’ “Just Can’t Get Enough” is up one spot to number four and Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor” featuring Pitbull is up one notch to number five.

CALI SWAG’S M-BONE KILLED, FANS REACT

In the wake of the senseless murder of Cali Swag District’s M-Bone a litany of reports surrounding the MC’s death have flooded the media. The 22 year old Inglewood native was shot two times this past Sunday night by an unknown assailant not far from where he grew up. Since his passing a startling report suggested that M-Bone was the victim of jealousy at the hands of a neighbor angered by the stars success.

According to website TMZ, M-Bones girlfriend spoke with the outlet and gave information that an unknown man had been threatening Bone on Twitter and possibly could be the same man who fired on her boyfriend inside a vehicle she owns. More surprising, the unnamed girlfriend says that M-Bone had not even been back in Los Angeles for 24 hours before he was killed.

News of M-Bone’s killing has continued to leave the Hip-Hop community in a state of shock.

“Can I get a moment of silence for the lil homie M-Bone R.I.P. from Cali Swag District” The Game tweeted. “A kid Gunned down in the streets of Los Angeles SMH.”

Beyonce’s younger sister and producer Jermaine Dupri talked about the impact M-Bone had on the music industry.

“M-Bone from Cali Swag District, a life gone too soon” said Solange. “Part of a creation that brought so many momentous & happy times to me & friends.”

“He was instrumental at showing people the dances. He was the main inspiration behind the creative dances that ultimately defined the group. He was the fourth member, who didn’t rap, but played his position by taking the lead on creating unique dances.”

The Inglewood Police Department is asking anyone with information to come forward and call its homicide division at (310) 412-5246 or its 24-hour anonymous hotline number, (888) 41 CRIME, or (888) 412-7463.

·       The group’s leader, Smoove, tweeted, “My life changed drastically in the. Blink of an eye R.I.P M-Bone.”

ALICIA KEYS DENIES BEING A HOMEWRECKER

During an interview with Essence magazine, Alicia Keys claims that she was not the reason her current husband, Swizz Beatz, recently divorced his first wife, Mashonda. The singer explained that she did not start dating the hitmaker “until months after they had separated” and added that she was “hurt” by “all the false things” that were being reported. Keys further explained that she did not speak up against the rumors at the beginning of her relationship with Swizz because she felt it “would have made things worse.” Alicia went on to say that “things are really good now” between her and Mashonda, who considers her a “partner” in raising her son with the famous producer.

CASSIDY SUSPECT FOR MURDER?

According to AllHipHop.com, Cassidy was reportedly arrested for violating the terms of his probation and he’s also a murder suspect. The Philadelphia native was allegedly involved in one murder and he’s a suspect for two other killings. This marks the second time the rapper has been linked to a violent crime. He served eight months in prison for involuntary manslaughter back in 2006.

JONSIN IS PROUD OF KELLY ROWLAND

Many would agree that Kelly Rowland’s hit single, “Motivation” featuring Lil Wayne, has sparked new interest in her upcoming third studio, Here I Am. Jim Jonsin, who produced the sensual song, told Rap-Up.com that he’s “really happy that things are going well for her on this record. A real concern for us was to get that smash for her. She’s a friend of ours as well, so to see her win is huge.” The hitmaker added that he’s crafted four additional songs for Rowland’s disc, which is due out this fall.
·      “Motivation” sits at number three on the Billboard R&B/Hip-hop chart.
·       Rico Love has also reportedly contributed to Here I Am.

KANYE WEST TALKS WATCH THE THRONE

Wanna know what’s taking Kanye West and Jay-Z so long to release their joint album? We recently caught up with Yeezy, who explained that recording Watch The Throne is a process that can’t be rushed. So far, we know that Swizz Beatz and Ryan Leslie have contributed to the rap star’s first collaborative effort. There is still no confirmed release date at this time.

LIL WAYNE TALKS UNPLUGGED PERFORMANCE

We previously reported that Lil Wayne taped an episode of MTV2’s Unplugged music series last Thursday in L-A. Immediately following the showcase, Weezy told The Los Angeles Times, “It was humbling just to be a part of. As an artist that’s watched the game as closely as I did, to be on ‘Unplugged’ is a high honor,” He added, “I’ve gotten people that haven’t texted me in a long time, text me today saying congratulations. It is that kind of thing.  LIL JON JOINS JOHN RICH FOR RICH ROCKS!

John Rich released a “Six Pak” of CDs today. One, called For The Kids, pays tribute to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, with a portion of the proceeds going toward the organization. The other “Six Pak,” Rich Rocks, is a high-energy mini album that blends country and rock and features one of his Celebrity Apprentice teammates, as he told us.
“Everybody’s been askin’, ‘Lil Jon and John Rich ought to do something together.’ Well, I have filled that request. The whole thing is just slammin’, hard rockin’ country music. DETAILS ON GUCCI MANE ARREST

We previously reported Gucci Mane was arrested last week for allegedly pushing a woman out of a moving vehicle. According to AllHipHop.com, new details reveal that the emcee and the unnamed woman got into a dispute over 150 dollars. They were en route to go out for breakfast when she refused to go to a motel with him, which prompted Gucci to push her out of the car while it was in motion. We’ll keep you posted with further information.

· The rapper was checking in with his probation officer when authorities handcuffed and charged him with a misdemeanor count of battery.

NICKI MINAJ TO TOUR WITH BRITNEY SPEARS

TMZ reports that Nicki Minaj will join Britney Spears on her upcoming tour, which gets underway on June 17th in Sacramento. Minaj replaces Enrique Iglesias, who pulled out of the tour shortly after it was announced.

According to MTV News, Kanye West has received another nomination for this year’s O Music Awards. I think that it’s all about timing.” Leslie added, “I am sure that we will have no problem between our audiences releasing it and getting feedback on whether they enjoy it.”

GAGA, MADONNA, & CATHOLICISM

It was reported over the weekend that the Catholic League is upset with Lady Gaga over her forthcoming music video for “Judas,” in which she will play Mary Magdalene. Well this isn’t the first time that an artist has come under fire for things that members of the church have considered blasphemous. You’ll remember that in 1989, Madonna’s video for her hit song “Like a Prayer” was condemned by Catholic leaders because of the imagery in it, which included a black Jesus and statues that were crying blood.
