SNOOP DOGG TO LAUNCH CIGAR BRAND
Snoop Dogg has recently announced on his official website plans to launch his own cigar line. The rapper’s brand, which is described to have tobacco made with the “highest quality,” is called Executive Branch and will be released during this year’s Coachella Music Festival. In addition, the cigars will be sold for just 99-cents a pack with two in each package.
The tobacco was imported from the Dominican Republic.
BRANDY TO RECORD DUET WITH DRAKE?
According to TrueExclusives.com, Brandy hinted at wanting to work with Drake on the follow-up to 2008’s Human. She said of the Young Money rapper, “I love Drake. I think Drake is just so phenomenal. I love his music. I’m always wishing that I can just sing one of Drake’s melodies.” The singer says that Drizzy might pen a song for the project, which is slated to arrive this May. The news comes just as Brandy confirmed that she has collaborated again with Monica.
The disc will include collaborations with Frank Ocean, Bangladesh and Chris Brown.

Ever since Blue Ivy Carter was born, Beyonce and Jay-Z have been heavily scrutinized by the media for allegedly being given special treatment inside New York City’s Lenox Hill hospital. However, the couple recently did a good deed by donating expensive gifts to charity. A source told the Daily Star newspaper, “Oprah Winfrey gave a huge trunk of children’s books and others like P. Diddy, Kanye West, Rihanna and Mariah Carey have all been sending luxurious baby treats.” The source adds, “They’ve already got the most precious gift – their new baby daughter – so they want to help out other parents who haven’t been as fortunate.”

According to Rap-Up.com, Melanie Fiona has unleashed a new Motown-inspired song called “Wrong Side of a Love Song.” The track will reportedly appear on the singer’s her sophomore album, The MF Life, which is scheduled to arrive on May 8th.

Well according to XXLMag.com, Drake has sent one of his bodyguards to see the Los Angeles tattoo artist named Kevin Campbell, who was responsible for the ink. Campbell announced on Twitter that Drake’s security went inside the shop to speak to him while Drizzy remained outside in the vehicle. He wrote, “[Drake] really made himself more like a sweet bitch with that move!” As previously reported, Drizzy said during recent interviews that Campbell was a real “a**hole” for tattooing that on her forehead and should lose his job.
KELLY ROWLAND TO TRIBUTE MARIAH AT BET HONORS
According to BET.com, Kelly Rowland has signed on to serve as one of the performers who will pay tribute to Mariah Carey during this year’s BET Honors. The singer is expected to perform some of Carey’s hit songs during the fifth annual show. The Associated Press reports Lil Wayne has decided to author his first book. The rap mogul has teamed with Grand Central Publishing to put out Gone Til November, which is chronicles Weezy’s stint at Rikers Island and includes some of the open letters he sent to his fans. The rapper’s literary effort is slated to arrive in bookstores on November 28th.
The rapper completed eight months behind barsafter being found guilty for weapons possessions.
JENNIFER HUDSON, NE-YO ISSUE SINGLE FROM THINK LIKE A MAN
To get people more excited about the upcoming film, Think Like a Man, the official title track with Jennifer Hudson, Rick Ross and Ne-Yo has been released. While the release date for the soundtrack is yet to be announced, you can expect the big-screen adaptation of Steve Harvey’s book to star Chris Brown, Taraji P. WOMAN GETS DRAKE’S NAME TATTOOED TO HER HEAD
In Drake’s song “Free Spirit” with Rick Ross, he says on the hook: “Tat my name on you so I know it’s real.” According to MTV.com, a fan has done just that and showed her devotion to Drizzy by getting a tattoo of the rapper’s name on her forehead. Kevin Campbell, the tattoo artist responsible for the ink, told Vibe magazine that the young lady wasn’t drunk and “really psyched and was pretty adamant about putting it on her forehead.” He adds, “She acted as if she had planned it out for a while; though I’m not really sure how much extended coherent thought could actually go into getting such a stupid tattoo on your forehead.”

According to his official website, Drake has released the dates for his upcoming Club Paradise tour, which will travel to cities in the U-S and Europe. The highly anticipated trek will begin next year on February 14th in Miami and wraps on March 11th in San Diego only to begin in Dublin, Ireland on March 24th. NEW ACTS ADDED TO VH1 DIVAS
We’ve just learned Anita Baker, Mavis Staples, Wanda Jackson and Ledisi have just been added to the list of performers for this year’s VH1 Divas. In addition, Dolly Parton, Queen Latifah, Terrence Howard, Nas, Common and La La Anthony are all expected to present at the ceremony, which is paying tribute to great cities of soul including Chicago, Detroit, London, Memphis and Philadelphia. Taking place inside New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom, be sure to tune in when VH1 Divas airs Monday, December 19th at 9 PM/8c on VH1.
The headlining “divas” were announced earlier and includes Mary J. Blige, Kelly Clarkson, Florence + The Machine, Jennifer Hudson, Jessie J. and Jill Scott. According Vibe, Fantasia has reportedly delivery a healthy baby boy at a North Carolina hospital on Tuesday morning. The bundle of joy marks her first child together with her and partner Antwaun Cook, who was allegedly married when they first started dating. The singer has told People.com, “I feel so blessed that my son Dallas Xavier was born healthy, and is a wonderful new addition to our family,” she said. “I thank all my fans for their well wishes and continued support.” The bundle of joy weighed at 7 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches long. Dallas marks her first child together with her and partner Antwaun Cook, who was allegedly married when they first started dating.

MICHAEL JACKSON AUCTION
According to JuliensAuctions.com, personal items from the L-A home where Michael Jackson died in are being auctioned off. The items up for auction include messages from his children, a carved dining table and a Victorian grand piano and more. Other items include an ornate bedroom mirror, on which the late singer wrote: “Train perfection March, April full out May,” in the build up to his planned London comeback gigs, and a shower bench on which Jackson drew a series of stick figures. Contrary to rumors, the bed in which the singer died in will not be included in the sale.

FLO RIDA IS BACK ON TRACK AFTER DUI
TMZ is reporting that Flo Rida got off lightly from prosecutors for his DUI case. The rapper was busted in Miami Beach back in June on suspicion of DUI, according to Police his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit. Flo Rida’s attorney got the judge to send Flo to a first-time offenders program instead of jail. The program, called Back on Track, requires for Flo Rida to complete substance abuse classes, counseling, community service and drug testing. If Flo completes all of the requirements, prosecutors will know the DUI charge down to the lesser charge of reckless driving.

Wale will perform a free show in Washington D.C. on Saturday. The Maryland native is helping the Washington Wizards kick off their 2012 season with Fan Fest, on Saturday night. According to Billboard.com, T.I. credits Eminem with helping him overcome his drug addiction. The rapper failed to admit his drug of choice but did reveal that his addiction began after he received medication for oral surgery. Tip stated, “I haven’t had a chance to speak to Em since I’ve been home,” He said. “I heard that while I was down, he was trying to get in contact with me, but I don’t know if the dots just didn’t connect. USHER AND EX WIFE FIGHT OVER CUSTODY
Things between Usher and his ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, are not looking good. The mother of his two kids claims the crooner has failed to follow his legal obligations, when it comes to sharing joint custody of their sons. TMZ reports Tameka has filed documents requesting that a judge no longer allow Usher to have joint physical custody. During an interview with Billboard.com, Mary J. Blige spoke about her first time collaborating with Beyonce for her latest album, My Life II … The Journey Continues (Act I). On a record called “Love A Woman,” MJB explained how the duet came together. Since the track was originally recorded for Beyonce’s recent album, Mary explained, “She had her A&R people play the record for us. I’m sitting in the back thinking, ‘Is she really going to give me this record? That’s crazy! It’s amazing,’” Blige recalled. “I asked her A&R person and he said, ‘Yes, she wants you to have the record, but she wants to stay on it with you.’ I loved that idea and I’m thankful. This past weekend, there were reports that his Rocawear line of t-shirts Occupy All Streets were taken out of stores due to heavy controversy surrounding the line of t-shirts. DR DRE TO TAKE A BREAK?
During an interview with The Fader, Dr Dre revealed some surprising news about wanting to take a break from music. While he isn’t necessarily retiring, the hitmaker announced, “I’m gonna just wrap it up for a minute because I’ve been working on music for 27 years now and the longest I’ve ever been out of the studio in 27 years has been two weeks.” He will reportedly complete two projects, one with Kendrick Lamar, before he takes a brief hiatus. Dre is looking forward to “enjoying some time with the family” and promises that he’s “never gonna stop [making] music.” It’s unknown what this means for his oft-delayed Detox LP.

According to ThisIs50.com, Heavy D’s passing took a toll of DMX, who reportedly credits the late rapper for influencing his career. X recalled Waterbed Hev as the “first celebrity that I ever seen in my life. He’s from Mount Vernon (New York). The first person from Westchester County to make it big.” X added, “Before it was all these people from Brooklyn and The Bronx getting on. So, now it was somebody I could relate to. He gave me hope that it could be done.” As previously reported, Heavy D was only 44 years old when he passed away last week.
NICOLE SCHERZINGER’S DEBUT ALBUM DELAYED AGAIN
According to ThatGrapeJuice.net, Nicole Scherzinger’s debut album, Killer Love, has been delayed again and will not see a U-S release until next year. The effort has been pushed back countless times but was released in the U-K earlier this year. The album was supposed to come out to on December 15th, but will now arrive sometime in 2012. In the meantime, you can see Scherzinger as a judge on The X Factor on FOX.
GAGA AND GIBSON SPLIT
After a long and fruitful creative partnership, Lady Gaga has broken ties with creative director Laurieann Gibson. On Monday, MTV News confirmed the split, which came after reports that the two women had a serious falling out. Gibson has been part of Gaga’s inner circle since well before the singer became an international superstar, beginning with the choreography for the 2008 “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich” video and continuing through the soon-to-be famous steps in clips for “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” “Love Game,” “Paparazzi” and “Bad Romance.” The pair was closely associated throughout Gaga’s rise to fame, with Gibson providing the choreography and artistic input on such landmark videos as “Telephone,” “Alejandro” and “Born This Way.” Gibson also co-directed the Gaga videos for “Judas” and “Yoü and I” but the women reportedly clashed on the set of the former, with Gibson expressing discomfort with the religious imagery in the clip.

EMINEM’S SOUTHPAW GETS UP OFF THE MAT
Eminem has been circling the gritty boxing drama Southpaw for more than a year now. After Dreamworks shelved the project back in August, it seemed that the film may have been down for the count. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony has picked up the flick, which would be Marshall Mathers’s first major movie role since his acclaimed debut in the semi-autobiographical 2002 drama 8 Mile. The movie is expected to start production early next year and will be directed by Antoine Fuqua, who famously directed Denzel Washington’s Oscar-winning performance in Training Day.
SNOOP DOGG AND WIZ KHALIFIA SHOOT VIDEO FOR FIRST SINGLE OFF STONER COMEDY SOUNDTRACK
Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa shot their video for “Young, Wild & Free” on Wednesday night. The track is the first single off the duo’s upcoming stoner comedy, Mac & Devin Go to High School. The rappers took over a drive-in movie theater outside of L-A to film the clip. Wiz spoke to MTV News at the shoot saying, “This is a family affair man. Everybody that you see was all involved with the project. We all got love for each other, and you know, we just keeping it moving, right?” Mac & Devin Go to High School comes out in February.
T.I. AND B.o.B TEAMING UP FOR JOINT ALBUM?

T.I. DENIED LEGAL COUNSEL IN PRISON
According to TMZ, T.I. just might have to serve the remainder of his sentence in prison – especially since he has not been allowed to contact his lawyer. The rapper’s lawyer told TMZ that The Federal Bureau of Prisons stated in letter that Tip is “not entitled to legal counsel.” Why? Well, apparently prison officials are still in the process of reviewing what led to him being re-incarcerated. As previously reported, the troubled emcee was released from prison and sent to halfway house only to be locked up again after he was caught conducting business with his manager while en route to the halfway house.
JAY-Z TO HOST CARNIVAL IN NYC
Jay-Z has announced that at the end of the month, he’ll host a lavish carnival-themed benefit for his Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation. The New York Daily News reports that the event will help raise funds for people needing financial assistance to attain higher education. According to various reports, Christina Aguilera’s position as a vocal coach on The Voice is secure, dismissing earlier reports that she would be fired after the completion of next season’s singing competition. A rumor about Aguilera’s proposed firing erupted after X17 Online reported that producers were unhappy working with her and planned to replace her in third season of the show. AMY WINEHOUSE WOULD HAVE BEEN 28 TODAY
Today would have been Amy Winehouse’s 28th birthday. The embattled singer passed away on July 23rd at her home in London, and while the official cause of death is yet to be announced, it’s been ruled out that it was the result of an illegal substance, and her father Mitch revealed that he believes she died from a seizure suffered while going through detox. Snoop Dogg came out to perform his hit song, “Snoop Dogg” accompanied by Kurupt and Game.

Amy Winehouse’s 2006 album Back To Black sold over 37-thousand copies this week and 36-thousand of them were digital downloads. Her debut album, Frank, sold over 76-hundred copies and over seven-thousand were digital downloads. Over 95 percent of all Winehouse’s album sold in the wake of her death were downloaded digitally, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
