According to Nielsen Soundscan, Rihanna’s Talk That Talk has officially gone gold. The singer’s disc, which sits at number nine on the Billboard 200 chart, has amassed sales of over 500-thousand since being released on November 21st via Def Jam Recordings.
To date, Rihanna has sold more than 20-million albums and 60-million singles.

Rihanna is hoping to soon perform her duet, “Princess of China,” with Coldplay. Ri Ri told England’s The Sun, “I think Chris Martin is a special guy. His songwriting is just beautiful and I am a huge fan. If they want me to sing with Coldplay, I will be waiting for the call. I’d love to perform with them.” There are now rumors of them performing together at the 2012 Brit Awards. As previously reported, Martin recently said of Rihanna that she is the “greatest singer in the world.”
DRAKE’S TAKE CARE SITS HIGH ON BILLBOARD 200 CHART
This week, Drake’s Take Care claimed the number two spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Unable to out-do Adele’s 21, the Toronto emcee’s studio sophomore effort reportedly earned an additional 72-thousand copies, bringing its total sales to just over 1.2-million units moved since late last year. The disc, which includes guest contributions from Rick Ross, Kendrick Lamar and Nicki Minaj, is out now. Elsewhere on the chart, Young Jeezy’s latest project, TM 103: Hustler’s Ambition, sits at the number three spot and has amassed sales of over 300k to date.
AMBER ROSE CONFIRMS KANYE AND KIM KARDASHIAN RUMORS
Amber Rose has a secret to tell. Kanye West’s ex-girlfriend recently revealed to Star magazine that the rumors of the rap star hooking up with Kim Kardashian were actually true. Back in 2009, the reality star was accused of cheating on her former beau, Reggie Bush, with Yeezy and Rose feels she’s a “homewrecker.” Amber stated, “Kim is one of the main reasons why me and Kanye are not together. They were both cheating on me and Reggie with each other.” Apparently, Kim never explained or defended her actions, even after Amber emailed her. Rose stated, “I want to thank her because if she was never a homewrecker, then I never would have met Wiz [Khalifa], and I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now.” There you have it.

CHRIS BROWN TURNS DOWN ALL INTERVIEWS FOR 2012
According to an interview with Billboard, Chris Brown’s manager, Tina Davis, announced that the singer has decided to not do any interviews or media in 2012. The crooner will instead “concentrate on performing and recording.” In addition, she stated, “We’re not trying to be rude, selfish or disrespectful to anyone in anyway. If people are going to judge anything, judge him for his talent.” The news comes after Breezy vented his frustrations in 2011 for constantly being asked about his incident with ex-girlfriend, Rihanna.

LUDACRIS TO OPEN CHICKEN AND BEER RESTAURANT
According to his Twitter page, Ludacris has announced plans to open a new restaurant called Chicken & Beer inside an airport in his hometown of Atlanta. The rapper wrote, “I’m taking my restaurateur footprint into the busiest airport in the WORLD!” The new business venture, which will be opened in Hartsfield-Jackson ATL International, is actually named after his 2003 album, Chicken-n-Beer. Kanye West was spotted at a New Year’s Eve party DJ’ing by the name of “DJ World Jeezy.”
According to sources, the party was hosted by Fergie in Las Vegas. Kanye played a 3-hour set and played songs including Rihanna’s We Found Love, some old school classics by MJ and others. He also played his own songs including “Nigga’s In Paris” for as many as 5 times.
Sources added that Kanye’s G.O.O.D Music family was also at the party. However, the people who paid a really big chunk of money ($275 to $15,000) to attend the party did not seem too happy with their new DJ’s performance. Some of them took to twitter to express their frustration with their DJ in a polite way. Two of those tweets go as the following:
DMX SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM IN SPRING
2012 will be the Year of the Dog. DMX is set to return to music with a new album, due this spring.
The Yonkers MC, born Earl Simmons, will release his seventh studio album Undisputed on March 27 via United Music & Media Group. A first single will be released in the coming weeks.
According to a press release, the album will feature appearances from Busta Rhymes, Tyrese, and Jennifer Hudson, with production from Swizz Beatz and Deezle (“Lollipop”).
“Expect the unexpected. Expect the new improved,” his Ruff Ryders affiliate Swizz previously said of the project, X’s first since 2006’s Year of the Dog… Again. “Expect hip-hop. Expect real music. Expect the Dog to be back.”

JAY-Z, TIMBALAND HEADS TO COURT OVER “BIG PIMPIN” LAWSUIT
We previously reported Jay-Z and Timbaland were accused of allegedly sampling “Khosara, Khosara” in their hit song, “Big Pimpin.’” The children of a Bollywood composer named Baligh Hamdy filed a lawsuit and a judge recently decided that he case will go to trial. Apparently Hova’s camp only secured the “economic rights” to the song to use the sample, but they did not get permission from Hamdy’s children to sample, loop and rhyme over the original song. While it’s unknown what damages the plaintiff is seeking, a judge wants the jury to decide if Hova profited from performing “Big Pimpin’” during his live shows.
SWIZZ BEATZ TO OPEN ART GALLERY
During an interview with Life + Times, Swizz Beatz has announced plans on opening an art gallery. The hitmaker, who enjoys painting in his spare time, revealed that the gallery will showcase work that he’s collected during his international travels. He explained, “I want my gallery to be for young up and coming artists from around the world that people wouldn’t easily discover,” he said. “I feel like I found the new [Andy] Warhol in Japan, the new [Takashi] Murakami in Hong Kong—not to compare their work so much but as far as [their] thinking outside of the box. I found a couple of sick artists in Africa, in Mexico too.” In related news, he’s working on his upcoming album, Haute Living, which will drop in 2012.
PLIES FOUND LIABLE FOR SHOOTING
We previously reported Plies was facing a 10-million dollar lawsuit stemming from a 2006 shooting inside a nightclub in Gainesville, Florida. We’ve now learned that he rapper and his brother were found civilly liable for the incident that led to five victims getting injured moments before Pies was scheduled to perform at the venue. After the jury deliberated for eight hours, the victims were given a total of 200-thousand dollars.
His lawyer Robert A. Rush previously said in a statement, “The plaintiffs’ claims against my client continue to be without merit, we look forward to having this resolved in a court of justice.”
JANET JACKSON BECOMES FACE OF NUTRISYSTEM
According to her official website, Janet Jackson has announced that she’s the face of the weight loss company, Nutrisystem. The singer, who previously battled with yo-yo dieting and weight gain, is expected to appear in nationwide campaign with her success story. She said in a statement, “Dieting never worked for me, counting calories never worked for me, and denying myself the foods I love never worked for me. I needed a better plan, and I found it with Nutrisystem.” She said, “There are millions of women like me who want to be successful but don’t have the tools to do it on their own. I hope I can help inspire them.” The news comes just a few months after the icon released her latest book, True You, which is out now.
COMMON EXPLAINS WHY KANYE WAS LEFT OFF LP
During an interview with XXLMag.com, Common broke down the reason he failed to collaborate with Kanye West for his upcoming album, The Dreamer/The Believer. Since he’s been a longtime friend with ‘Ye, he wants everyone to know that the disc is being released on Warner Bros. He explained, “It’s on my own imprint as far as Think Common, yes, but I’m still G.O.O.D. Music-affiliated. That’s my family no matter what. Business-wise we just didn’t do the G.O.O.D. Music thing, but ‘Ye is my brother for good.” You can pick up The Dreamer/The Believer on December 20th.

MADONNA SIGNS THREE ALBUM DEAL WITH INTERSCOPE RECORDS
Madonna has inked a three album deal with Interscope Records and will release her first album in five years in March. Now that Gucci Mane has been released from prison, he’s wasting no time to put out new music. According to Billboard, Rihanna matches her longest streak atop the Billboard Hot 100, as “We Found Love,” featuring Calvin Harris, spends a seventh week at number one. She had previously led for seven weeks with “Umbrella,” featuring Jay-Z back in 2007 and as a guest on Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie” last year. LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It” is locked at number two for the sixth straight week and is hot on Rihanna’s heels as it tops the on Digital Songs chart, selling over 149-thosuand downloads. Bruno Mars’ “It Will Rain” remains at number three, while Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” leaps five spots to number four and marks her sixth top five hit from her Teenage Dream album. Flo Rida holds at number five with “Good Feeling.”
“We Found Love” also ties Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” for the longest run at the top this year. The last song to score a longer run at number one was Ke$ha’s “TiK ToK,” which lead the chart for nine weeks back in 2010.

According to Forbes, Lady Gaga is music’s top-earning woman in 2011. Gaga earned 90 million dollars from album sales, touring and endorsements, which doubles the estimated earnings of Taylor Swift and Katy Perry, who came in at number two and three respectively. Beyonce raked in a cool 35 million dollars to come in at number four, while Rihanna rounds out the top five with 29 million.
The numbers reflect earnings between May 2010 and 2011.
P!nk, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Adele, Alicia Keys and Britney Spears round out the top ten.
Overall, U2 was Forbes’ top act in music, raking in over 195 million dollars.

During an interview with MTV Sucker Free’s DJ Envy, Rick Ross shed new light on his upcoming album, God Forgives, I Don’t. Rozay says the project will definitely include guest verses from Jay-Z and stated, “You know, whenever me and the homie come together to collaborate, we gotta make it something special for Hip Hop,” he said. “We always make sure we have fun with it, but this record right here, this is our biggest collaboration ever.” The disc is slated to drop early 2012.

LIL WAYNE, EMINEM PREP JOINT TOUR
According to his official Facebook page, Lil Wayne has announced that he plans to tour with Eminem after he wraps his I Am Still Music outing. Wayne has not revealed any dates for the highly anticipated trek with Slim Shady, but the duo is scheduled to touch down in Fiji, Australia and South Africa. We will keep you posted as more information becomes available.

DIDDY’S SON ACCEPTED INTO UCLA
According to RapRadar.com, Diddy is proud to announce that his eldest son, Justin Combs, has reportedly accepted a full scholarship to play football for UCLA. The mogul expressed his joy in the following statement, “As a parent, today is one of the proudest moments of my life. This is everything a father could want for his son, for him to excel at what he loves to do and is truly passionate about. Justin is a shining example of what hard work, determination and a strong mentality can achieve. I am honored to call him my son and am happy that he is fulfilling his dream.”
USHER AND EX WIFE FIGHT OVER CUSTODY
Things between Usher and his ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, are not looking good. The mother of his two kids claims the crooner has failed to follow his legal obligations, when it comes to sharing joint custody of their sons. TMZ reports Tameka has filed documents requesting that a judge no longer allow Usher to have joint physical custody. In addition, she is seeking more money for child suppor,t since there’s allegedly been a “substantial change in [Usher's] income” since they got divorced. We’ll keep you posted.
MARY J BLIGE TALKS BEYONCE DUET
During an interview with Billboard.com, Mary J. Blige spoke about her first time collaborating with Beyonce for her latest album, My Life II … The Journey Continues (Act I). On a record called “Love A Woman,” MJB explained how the duet came together. Since the track was originally recorded for Beyonce’s recent album, Mary explained, “She had her A&R people play the record for us. I’m sitting in the back thinking, ‘Is she really going to give me this record? That’s crazy! It’s amazing,’” Blige recalled. “I asked her A&R person and he said, ‘Yes, she wants you to have the record, but she wants to stay on it with you.’ I loved that idea and I’m thankful. In case you were wondering what’s going on with Day26 these days, the R&B group are rebuilding and working on new material. This after they parted ways with their former member, Que. In their new online series, you can watch Willie, Brian, Mike, and Robert start to record their upcoming album, titled A New Day, which will be released early next year. SOULJA BOY SAYS HE IS INNOCENT
Despite facing some serious criminal charges, Soulja Boy Tell’em maintains his innocence. After the rapper was released from police custody Tuesday, he made a quick statement to his fans and the press waiting outside, saying he is innocent. The 21-year-old was arrested Tuesday after police pulled over the black Cadillac Escalade he was riding in. After what police are calling a routine traffic stop, they detected a strong marijuana odor and searched the vehicle. Officers found marijuana, guns and cash in the SUV. Sources told CBS Atlanta that police found more than five ounces of pot and 46-thosuand dollars in cash in the rented vehicle. Soulja and the four men who were riding with him were all booked and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
ANNOUNCES DATES FOR VMAS AND MOVIE AWARDS
The 2012 MTV Video Music Awards will air live on September 9th. No word yet on a city or venue for the 29th annual show. Meanwhile, the 21st annual MTV Movie Awards will beam out live from Los Angeles on June 3rd, 2012. The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards drew the biggest audience in the show’s history with over 12.4-million viewers.

KANYE WEST TO DROP G.O.O.D. MUSIC IN THE SPRING
Kanye West took to Twitter to announce he will release a new album in the spring. He wrote: “Goodmusic. The album. Spring 2012.” His label, Def Jam, also confirmed the release in a tweet. The G.O.O.D. Music effort could contain tracks from Big Sean, Kid Cudi, Mos Def, Common, Pusha T and John Legend. Kayne and Jay-Z will kick off the Watch The Throne Tour on October 28th in Atlanta, Georgia.
LIL WAYNE TALKS TO GQ
Lil Wayne is on the cover of the GQ’s music issues along with Eminem and Keith Richards. According to Rap-Up.com, Weezy speaks candidly in the magazine about planning to retire at 35 to spend more time with his kids. He admitted that he does not like being sober and he wishes he could get back to smoking weed and drinking syrup. Weezy added that he thinks someone slipped something into his drink that made him want to get a bunch of tattoos. RICK ROSS RESCHEDULES MORE SHOWS?
Rick Ross was scheduled to play a show in Los Angeles this weekend, but the rapper, who recently suffered a major health scare, has rescheduled the event for January 2012. TMZ reports that promoters feel it is too soon for Ross to get back on stage and that he needs more time to get better. Rozay was believed to have suffered two seizures last week and last tweeted on October 14th. We’ll keep you posted on his progress.
JAY-Z GETS ANIMATED
According to MTV News, Jay-Z is set to appear in a new animated sitcom. Hov will reportedly star, in cartoon form, in the first episode of the Hub TV series, Secret Millionaires Club. Jay will reportedly give a group of children financial advice on the show. The rapper is set to star in four episodes of the series, which kicks off Sunday on Hub TV.
KELLY ROWLAND IS “DOWN FOR WHATEVER” IN NEW VIDEO
Kelly Rowland takes it all off in her new video for “Down for Whatever.” The sexy clip for the RedOne-produced single off her third album, Here I Am, features the former Destiny’s Child singer in a few different skimpy outfits. Rowland wears a zebra-print leotard with top hat, a bra with panties and also is totally nude, with her privates covered in an artsy manner. NE-YO EXPECTING BABY BOY
According to Uptown Magazine, Ne-Yo has revealed the sex of his second child with longtime girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw. The crooner announced that he’s having his first son, who will join his 10-month-old daughter, Madilyn. The singer told the mag, “I’ve always prided myself on being able to make music that everybody can listen to and that’s not gonna change. That’s just reinforced now that I have a little girl and a little boy on the way. Yeah, I’m doing the same thing I’ve been doing.”
