Saturday (6/25) marks the two year anniversary of the shocking and sudden death of Michael Jackson. The biggest pop star in history left us at the age of 50, while he was preparing for a big comeback tour. His funeral took place at the Staples Center in L-A and was a star-studded and solemn affair featuring performances from John Mayer, Mariah Carey and Lionel Richie.

SEAN KINGSTON LEAVES THE HOSPITAL!

According to TMZ, Sean Kingston has just been discharged from Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida. After the singer suffered critical injuries following a bad jet-ski crash in Miami over Memorial Day weekend, it took him only three weeks to make a full recovery. Doctors predicted it would take him at least a month and a half to leave the facility. The news comes just two days after Sean posted a picture on his Twitter page and told fans that he was “feeling much better.” No further details are known at this time.

2012 GRAMMY DATE REVEALED!

Wanna known when the 54th annual GRAMMY Awards will take place? According to Billboard.com, the biggest night in music will be held at The Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 12th. In addition, viewers can expect the GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live to air on November 30th.

LIL WAYNE SAYS HE DOESN’T LIKE “DEAR ANNE”

During an interview with XXL, Lil Wayne surprisingly revealed that he did not like the recently leaked song, “Dear Anne.” The Swizz Beatz-produced track was “actually a record for Tha Carter III.” Weezy explained, “I had been listening to it and didn’t like it. I don’t like it ‘cause the song, all the verses are old. And me being a perfectionist, I hate going with old verses.” In related news, Tha Carter IV arrives later this summer.

JAMIE FOXX TO STAR IN NEW TARANTINO FILM

According to SingersRoom.com, Jamie Foxx has just landed a new role in a new film directed by Quentin Tarantino. The project is titled Django Unchained and the Oscar-winning actor will portray “a freed slave that works with bounty hunter to be played by Christoph Waltz.” Other actors attached to the project include Leonardo DiCapri and Calvin Candie. No further details are known at this time.

MINDLESS BEHAVIOR KICKS OFF NEW TOUR

We’ve just learned Mindless Behavior are scheduled to headline their first ever outing, which is being dubbed the Closer to My Dreams tour. The band, which consists of Prodigy, Roc Royal, Ray Ray and Princeton, will kick off their 16-date trek on July 7th in Los Angeles at the House of Blues and wrap it up on August 6th in Atlanta. On select dates, the boys will be joined by Tyga, Lil Twist, Trevante and Jawan Harris.

SNOOP DOGG TO BE HONORED AT BMI URBAN AWARDS

We’ve just learned Snoop Dogg is scheduled to be honored as a BMI Icon at the 2011 BMI Urban Awards. The West Coast rap legend is being recognized for “unique and indelible influence on generations of music makers.” Since his 1992 debut, Doggystyle, the Dogfather continues to make new trends in hip-hop. The event takes place on August 26 at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.

· Previous BMI Icons include George Clinton, The Jacksons, James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, The Bee Gees, Willie Nelson and Carlos Santana.

MISSY TALKS HEALTH PROBLEMS AFFECTING CAREER

In her upcoming episode of Vh1 Behind the Music, for the first time ever, Missy Elliot will talk about struggling with Graves Disease and being sexually abused as a child. The rapper said of her incurable aliment, “You live with it the rest of your life. I couldn’t write because my nervous system was so bad. I couldn’t even use a pen.” Viewers can expect the series to air new documentaries this August.

· According to WebMD.com, Graves Disease is one of the most common of all thyroid problems. It is also the leading cause of hyperthyroidism, a condition in which the thyroid gland produces excessive hormones.

NICKI MINAJ, BRUNO ADDED TO BET AWARDS LINE-UP 

According to BET.com, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber and Bruno Mars have officially joined the list of celebs that will appear at the 2011 BET Awards. In addition, Queen Latifah and Gladys Knight will reportedly attend the ceremony as well. Performers for the show include Beyonce, Rick Ross, DJ Khaled, Ace Hood, Mary J. Blige, Kelly Rowland, Jill Scott, Trey Songz Drake, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown and Alicia Keys. Be sure to tune in on June 26th at 8 PM Eastern when the ceremony airs live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

DIDDY SETTLES LAWSUIT FOR NYC SHOOTING

According to the New York Post, Diddy has finally reached a settlement with three victims that were injured inside a New York City nightclub 12 years ago. This happened to be the same incident that actually led to Shyne getting arrested and serving time for weapons passion. Puff reportedly paid one woman 1.8-million dollars and also gave two other club goers a combined total of 550-thousand. As previously reported, Diddy was hosting a party that ended with Shyne firing his weapon and injuring several bystanders.

· This incident was one of the main reasons that his then-girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, broke off their relationship.

Enrique Iglesias premiered the music video for “Dirty Dancer” this week. The video features Usher and Lil Wayne in a club where girls “dirty dance” between performance shots of the artists. The song is Iglasias’ sixth single off his 2010 album, Euphoria.

DAVID GUETTA ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM

David Guetta will release his next album, Nothing But The Beat, on August 30th. The “Where Them Girls At” producer will also be headlining this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas on Saturday and Electric Zoo in New York City on September 3rd. The next single from the album, “Little Bad Girl” featuring Ludacris and Taio Cruz, will be released on Tuesday.

YOUR MEMORIAL DAY HISTORY LESSON

According to HistoryChannel.com, Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day because it was a time set aside to honor the nation’s Civil War dead by decorating their graves. It was first widely observed on May 30th, 1868 to commemorate the sacrifices of Civil War soldiers. During the first celebration of Decoration Day, General James Garfield made a speech at Arlington National Cemetery, after which five-thousand participants helped to decorate the graves of the more than 20-thousand Union and Confederate soldiers buried in the cemetery. By the late 1800’s, many communities across the country had begun to celebrate Memorial Day and, after World War I, observances also began to honor those who had died in all of America’s wars. In 1971, Congress declared Memorial Day a national holiday to be celebrated on the last Monday in May. Today, Memorial Day is celebrated at Arlington National Cemetery with a ceremony in which a small American flag is placed on each grave. Also, it is customary for the president or vice-president to give a speech honoring the contributions of the dead and lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

MEMORIAL DAY FACTS
It is believed that the holiday was chosen to be in May because flowers would be in bloom all over the country. * In 1966, Congress and President Lyndon Johnson declared Waterloo, New York, the “birthplace” of Memorial Day. * It was not until after World War I, however, that the day was expanded to honor those who have died in all American wars. * Many Southern states also have their own days for honoring the Confederate dead.  * Mississippi celebrates Confederate Memorial Day on the last Monday of April, Alabama on the fourth Monday of April and Georgia on April 26th.  * North and South Carolina observe it on May 10th, Louisiana on June 3rd and Tennessee calls that date Confederate Decoration Day. * Texas celebrates Confederate Heroes Day January 19th and Virginia calls the last Monday in May Confederate Memorial Day. * The crowd attending the first Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery was approximately the same size as those who attend today’s observance, about five-thousand people. * The National Moment of Remembrance encourages all Americans to pause wherever they are at 3 PM local time on Memorial Day for a minute of silence to remember and honor those who have died in service to the nation. SEAN KINGSTON CRITCALLY INJURED IN JET SKI ACCIDENT

Hip-hop star Sean Kingston is in critical condition in a Miami Beach hospital after being injured in a bad jet skiing accident Sunday evening … TMZ has confirmed.

According to Local10.com, the “Beautiful Girls” singer had a female passenger on board his watercraft when it crashed into a bridge (see below) around 6:00 PM local time. We’re told both Kingston and his passenger were rescued from the water by a good Samaritan.

The Miami Fire Dept. responded to the scene and both Kingston and his female passenger were transported to nearby Jackson Memorial Hospital. We’re told Kingston’s injuries are so severe, he is being treated in the trauma ward.

We’re told … at this moment, officials do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash.

Officials are investigating the cause of the crash.

AND AS OF THIS MORNING:

Sean Kingston has been transferred from the trauma unit to the intensive care unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital — where he is in critical condition, but has been stabilized … this according to his rep.

JAMIE FOXX PARTIES COMING TO SHOWTIME!
Here’s a fun fact about Jamie Foxx, the entertainer is known to throw awesome parties at his house. The infamous get-togethers are actually called On My Balcony because he has celebrities come through and make special appearances on his terrace. Details about when the concert series will air are not yet known.

ALICIA ALWAYS LOOKS TO INSPIRE WITH EACH ALBUM
After appearing in Essence and W magazines, Alicia Keys is doing more press as she gears up to release her next studio album. The singer has already confirmed that one of the songs off the follow-up to 2009’s Element Of Freedom will include a song that’s dedicated to her mother.

MARY J BLIGE’S PERFUME: FRAGRANCE OF THE YEAR
Mary J Blige has tweeted some great news about her recently released perfume, My Life. The singer’s scent has received the award for Fragrance of the Year and Sales Breakthrough Winner during the annual Fifi Awards. MJB tweeted, “Thank you so much!!! Thank you to everyone who voted for the fragrance purchased it and loves it!” In related news, the singer is hard at work on recording her tenth studio album, My Life Too, The Journey Continues, which is slated for a September release.

WINEHOUSE BACK IN REHAB
Amy Winehouse is back in rehab.  According to People.com, Amy’s rep confirmed that the embattled singer checked into an English clinic on Wednesday as part of her ongoing problem with being addicted to alcohol.  Apparently, she was motivated to go by her father, Mitch.  Read more at People.com.

The Black Eyed Peas have teamed up with luxury charity auction site CharityBuzz.com to offer the ultimate concert experience at their Central Park SummerStage show in New York City on June 9th. LADY GAGA KICKS OFF GMA SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
Lady Gaga kicked off the Good Morning America summer concert series with a four-song set early Friday morning.  Some fans lined up two days before the show to get a good spot to watch the show.  Gaga opened the performance with “Bad Romance” before sitting down with Robin Roberts for an interview.  She returned to the stage to perform “The Edge of Glory,” “Judas” and closed the show playing “Hair” on a unicorn piano.

Lady Gaga tops Billboard’s Social 50 chart again, holding Justin Bieber at number two, while Rihanna, Shakira, Akon, Eminem, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Lil Wayne and Michael Jackson round out the top ten.  Notable leaps include Selena Gomez, who is up two spots to number 16, LMFAO, who climb three spots to number 21, and the aforementioned Michael Jackson, who jumped 11 notches to number 10. 
·       The Social 50 ranks the most active artists on social networking sites including YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter  and MySpace.  Billboard uses a formula blending weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays to create the chart.

THE BLACK EYED PEAS TALK NEW SINGLE!
The Black Eyed Peas have scored a huge hit with “Just Can’t Get Enough,” which peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.  We caught up with Taboo, who told us the story behind the song. 
“It’s basically paying homage to a woman either a girlfriend or a wife, someone you’re really interested into getting to know and you just say, ‘Yo I just can’t get enough of you you’re like everything that I’ve ever dreamed about I just can’t get enough, you’re like the ultimate drug.’”
“Just Can’t Get Enough” is at number five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. 
·       “Just Can’t Get Enough has sold over 1.9-million copies since it was released 14 weeks ago.  It sold 126-thousand copies last week and ranks number eight on the Digital Songs chart. 

TINIE TEMPAH TALKS FALL TOUR

Tinie Tempah joined Usher and Akon at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Friday night.  The British rapper has only one gig scheduled in America, which is Lollapalooza in Chicago in August.  Fans of Tinie will be happy to know that he is planning a fall tour of the States.

“Gonna put together a little tour, so hopefully September, October out here, a little small talk, some of my favorite cities and states, and towns in America, just showcasing the album, hopefully bring the band down with me as well.” 

- Tinie’s debut single, “Written in the Stars,” peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has now slipped to number 16. 

- Tinie’s next single is “Till I’m Gone,” a collaboration with Wiz Khalifa.  It was produced by Stargate.

GAME DETAINED IN CANADA!

We’ve just learned Game was detained after he tried to enter Canada for several spot shows. The rapper tweeted that since the customs officials denied him entry, he was unable to perform for his waiting fans. While he didn’t explain the reason for being detained, Game wrote, “I’m sorry to all my fans but I was mislead by promoters & assured I would be able to enter.” He is now being held for 14 days until paperwork is filed for his inadmissibility and he faces a judge to see if he will be deported or sentenced for violating Canada’s immigrant entry laws.

· Game later tweeted, “Flew all the way from L-A to be denied and detained?!?!”

GUCCI PLEADS NOT GUILTY FOR BATTERY CASE 

We recently told you that Gucci Mane was arrested after he pushed an unnamed woman out of a moving vehicle in Atlanta. According to the Washington Post, the rapper has just pled not guilty to the battery, reckless conduct and disorderly conduct charges and denies all allegations. We’ll keep you posted with further details.

NICKI MINAJ AND “THE LAPDANCE”

During Lil Wayne’s I Am Music II tour, Nicki Minaj has consistently delivered lap dances to fans and celebrities while performing her verse to Sean Kingston’s “No Letting Go.” The fem-cee started the tour kick-off by grinding on one of her male fans. As the show hit different cities, Nicki danced on Wayne’s lap, then on a female fan, then on NBA guard Chris Paul, and just last night (4/19), Nicki made the Phoenix Suns’ point guard, Steve Nash, smile. KANYE WEST FOUNDATION CLOSES DOWN

The New York Times reports Kanye West has decided to shut down his charity program, the Kanye West Foundation. The organization, which raised money to help kids excel in school and music, closed after four years for unknown reasons. Yeezy has declined to comment.

WAKA FLOCKA WANTS TO RETIRE “EVERYDAY”

It’s safe to say that Waka Flocka Flame has a love/hate relationship with the music business. RIHANNA IS RECORDING A DUET WITH BEYONCE?

According to MisForMusic.com, there are whispers that Beyonce and Rihanna could potentially record their first duet together. A source told the site that Ri Ri wanted to work with Bey “for some time now and after talking about a duet at this year’s GRAMMYs they have finally managed to set aside some time to record together. The song will feature on Beyonce’s album and will be a number one smash hit for sure.” The news comes a few days after Rihanna collaborated with Britney Spears for the first time for the remix to “S&M.

RIHANNA SCORES 10th NUMBER ONE SINGLE!

Rihanna’s “S&M” rises to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, giving the singer her 10th number one and ownership of a pair of historic chart records. According to Billboard, Ri Ri logs the shortest span between a solo artist’s first and 10th number one hits in the chart’s 52-year history. It took Rihanna only four years, 11 months and two weeks to score 10 chart-toppers. At 23, she is the youngest artists in history with 10 number ones.

50 CENT SEEKS RELATIVES IN NEW VH1 SERIES

50 Cent has reportedly signed on to look for family members in a new Vh1 series called The Origin of Me. The mogul will return to South Carolina to seek his ancestors in Edgefield County, which was once known as one of the “most violent places in the South.” Fans can expect the show to premiere on May 23rd at 9 PM Eastern on Vh1.

· 50 will also meet with the descendants of the slave-owners that enslaved some of the rapper’s ancestors.

THREE 6 MAFIA TO BE ON COOKING SHOW?

We’ve just learned Three 6 Mafia will appear in a new upcoming cooking series on Vh1. DJ Paul and Juicy J will compete against Heidi Montag of MTV’s The Hills, Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Danielle Staub, Jake Pavelka from The Bachelor, singer Ashley Dupre and The Sopranos’ Vincent Pastore to see who can successfully run a restaurant owned by The Dolce Group. Viewers can expect the reality show, Famous Food, to premiere this fall.

· The rap group’s last reality series was Adventures In Hollyhood, which ran on MTV and MTV2 in 2007.

LIL WAYNE ISSUES ALBUM COVER

Lil Wayne has released the official artwork for his upcoming album, Tha Carter IV. On the cover, a young Weezy poses in cap and gown with his signature tattoos edited onto his young face. In addition, fans can expect the disc to now arrive on June 14th.

CEE-LO GREEN TALKS “FORGET YOU”

Cee-Lo Green taped his VH1 Storytellers on Tuesday night at Sony Studios in Culver City, California. The soul crooner performed songs from his entire career from Goodie Mob classics like “Soul Food,” to Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” and “Who’s Gonna Save My Soul” to his latest solo hit “Forget You.” We caught up with Cee-Lo, who told us the song is about his frustration with his record label, after they said they were not happy with his songs he had recorded for his latest album.

“I did it to be ridiculous. I did it to be spiteful in all honesty. I did it to be ridiculous and I wanted to spite the label and be like, ‘Blah, blah, blah, take that’ and ironically enough it was the one (song) they loved.”

GAGA DOES NOT APPROVE WEIRD AL PARODY

According to Popdust.com, Lady Gaga did not approve Weird Al Yankovic’s parody of “Born This Way,” titled “Perform This Way.” The song, which can be heard on YouTube with a lyrics scroll, was supposed to be the first single from his upcoming album. It did not receive Lady Gaga’s approval so as-of-now it will not be featured on the effort. In the parody, he pokes fun at all the strange costume choices Gaga has made over the years. At the end of the clip, Weird Al states that all proceed from the song and video would have gone to the Human Rights Campaign.

ODD FUTURE TO PERFORM AT PITCHFORK FESTIVAL

Vibe.com reports Odd Future will join the line up for this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival. The annual three-day event will also include performances from Curren$y, Freddie Gibbs, Pharoahe Monch, Bon Iver, Das Racist and many others. The festival will be held at Chicago’s Union Park from July 15th to the 17th. Get tickets now at Ticketmaster.com.

JA RULE’S TWITTER HACKED BY 50 CENT?

If teasing Ja Rule about his pending prison sentence wasn’t enough, 50 Cent has been accused of allegedly hacking into Ja’s Twitter account. We knew something was strange when an imposter posted “f**k @Irv Gotti that n***a ruined my career, all the drugs, raping me on royalties, now I’m going to jail for two years” followed by “after ‘Wankster’ dropped I started using heroin heavy.” A few hours after the imposter wrote, “I went from doing shows on MTV to doing shows in Rikers [Island], ain’t that a bitch,” Rule gained control of his account and posted: “This coward 50 Cent hacking into my page is some sucker s**t. That’s why [he’ll] never be half the man [his] mother is.” When will this drama ever end?

During the Billboard Music App Awards, the I Am T-Pain download was named the Best Artist-Based Application. The app allows iPhone users to sing in auto tune and upload their song to Facebook or Twitter to share. The app also provides a free download of “Motivated,” which is off the entertainer’s prEREVOLVEr The Mixtape. In related news, fans can expect his fourth studio album, rEVOLVEr, to drop next year.

JIM JONSIN INTRODUCES ROCK REBEL RACING

This Saturday, producer Jim Jonsin and Champion Motorsport have teamed up to introduce a combined event for motor cars and music called Rebel Rock Racing. The show, which will include a performance by Miami native Pitbull, will take place at the Palm Beach International Raceway starting at 7 PM Eastern.

BIEBER WANTS A GRAMMY

Justin Bieber is nominated for two GRAMMY Awards, including the coveted Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album for My World 2.0. The 16-year-old told Billboard that winning a GRAMMY is at the top of his list for goals in 2011. Beiber is up against fellow Canadian Drake in the Best New Artist category. WILL.I.AM STILL NOT HAPPY WITH MJ RELEASE

According to Rolling Stone, Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am is still not happy about the release of the posthumous Michael Jackson album. Last month, will.i.am went public disapproving of the album, saying Jackson was such a perfectionist about his songs and that releasing any of them without his approval would dishonor the singer’s memory. Will recently told Rolling Stone he had a conversation with Jackson a few years ago when his song “Hold My Hand” was leaked. Will said Michael was very upset that people heard the track before it was finished.

TOP TEN JAMS OF 2010

Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” tops E! Online’s Top Ten Jams of 2010. The song edged out Usher’s “OMG” featuring will.i.am, which took the number two spot, followed by Rihanna’s “Rude Boy,” Cee-Lo’s “F**k You” and Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite.” Lady Gaga and Beyonce are also on the list with “Telephone” and Ke$ha comes in at number ten with her latest single, “We R Who We R.”

LIL WAYNE: “PLEASE STOP SENDING MAIL”

With Lil Wayne spending the rest of his sentence in solitary confinement for
possessing music contraband, the rapper has tweeted that sending fan-mail
won’t be necessary. Wayne explained on Twitter, “I can no longer write my
fans” and requested “as difficult as this maybe to say, please stop sending
me mail. I love you and will see you soon.” Weezy will walk out of Riker’s
Island in less than a month, on November 4th.

LIL WAYNE TO CELEBRATE IN MIAMI

Birdman recently told MTV News what festivities have been planned for the
return of Lil Wayne. The CEO of Cash Money Records spilled that the
homecoming party for the mogul will take place in Miami. Birdman stated, “If
the concert happens, it happens. But right now, we just want to come home
and see our family and party, I think. That’s what we gonna do: just come to
Miami, and just party for a minute. Work and party and play. Have the whole
team out here, and we gonna do it up. Miami is gonna be Weezy world.” In
related news, I Am Not a Human Being currently sits on the number two spot
on the Billboard 200 chart with first week sales amassing over 110-thousand
copies.

JAZMINE SULLIVAN DELAYS ALBUM

After releasing two solid singles, “Holdin’ You Down (Goin’ In Circles)” and
“10 Seconds,” Jazmine Sullivan has decided to delay the release of her
forthcoming album, Love Me Back. The soulful singer was expected to drop her
sophomore LP on November 2nd, but the effort will now arrive on November
30th. Jaz will be going up against Keri Hilson’s No Boys Allowed and Ciara’s
Basic Instinct. R&B showdown anyone?

RIHANNA PHOTO BOOK

Rihanna will be releasing a self-titled photography book that chronicles the
young singer’s life on the road and behind the scenes.  According to
Rap-Up.com, the 144-page book captures Rihanna in photographs from Paris
Fashion Week, on her Ellen von Unwerth Rated R album shoot in Berlin,
performing at the American Music Awards, and in other candid moments out of
the spotlight. The book also features photography taken during the European
leg of her Last Girl on Earth tour in April 2010.  It’s aptly called Rihanna
and will be available in paperback and hardcover editions on October 26th
through Rizzoli Publications.

TMZ has posted footage of 50 Cent being questioned by the paparazzi about
his rumored relationship with Chelsea Handler. The mogul was leaving Mr.

SWIZZ BEATZ RECORDING WITH BONO?

We recently caught up with Swizz Beatz to find out what’s going on with his
sophomore album and how many tracks he’s completed. The super-producer
dropped hints that his effort will include contributions from music greats

arrive early next year.

JAMIE FOXX SUPPORTS DOWN SYNDROME FOUNDATION

During the Be Beautiful, Be Yourself charitable fundraising gala, Jamie Foxx
told ET Online about his sister, DeOndra Dixon, suffering from Down
Syndrome. The Oscar-winning actor said of his sister’s illness that he can’t
“call it a condition. I just call it living. … When she loves, she loves.
When she’s mad, she’s mad. When she’s happy, she’s happy, but she always
tells the truth.” The recent event reportedly helped raise funds to benefit
the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.

CEE-LO TALKS “F**K YOU”

According to NME, Cee-Lo Green says his collaboration with 50 Cent on his
catchy hit “F**k You” was unplanned. Green said the rapper had put his spin
on the tune just days after it was released. Then the pair took things even
further by recording a video. Green also says he plans on returning to
Gnarls Barkley soon and that he knows his partner Danger Mouse will make
time for the project.

JENNIFER HUDSON PERFORMS

On Tuesday night, Jennifer Hudson performed for the two-year anniversary of
Michigan Avenue Magazine in Chicago. The singer showed off her new physique
and showcased an awesome rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love
You.” In addition, Hudson told the press that her sophomore album will most
likely be completed early next year.

UPDATE ON DRAKE AND RIHANNA COLLAB

During a London listening session for Rihanna’s Loud album, an alternate
version of Ri Ri’s second single, “What’s My Name?” was played. 4Music.com
reports the song now includes newly recorded verses from Drake. The singer
said of the “young” and “playful” track, “We may even shoot a video for it.”
Nothing is confirmed just yet but we’ll keep you posted. Be sure to look for
Rihanna’s Loud when it lands in stores and online next month.

 LADY GAGA & NE-YO TO GO COUNTRY?

It’s being reported that pop and R&B stars Lady Gaga and Ne-Yo are in talks
to record a country album. Ne-Yo told The Daily Star, “I’ve reached out to
GaGa and our people are talking. It would be amazing if we could do a
country and western record, something totally unexpected.” Ne-Yo is somewhat
familiar with the country scene after writing songs with Carrie Underwood in
the past.

GLEE CAST BEATS BEATLES RECORD

The Glee cast has passed the Beatles for most appearances among non-solo
acts in the 52-year history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.  According to
Billboard, the cast of the hit FOX TV show scores six debuts on this week’s
chart, upping their sum to 75 Hot 100 chart entries, surpassing the Beatles’
71 charted titles. The series’ actors/singers bow with five covers of
Britney Spears songs, as well as Paramore’s “The Only Exception,” as
performed on the episode that aired on September 28th.  Glee’s cover of
Spears’ “Toxic” is the chart’s highest debut, entering at number 16, selling
over 109-thousand downloads in one week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

*       TIDBITS: The Beatles tallied their 71 Hot 100 titles between 1964
and 1996. With FOX and Columbia Records having released multiple songs to
digital retailers following each episode of Glee, the series’ cast will have
passed the Fab Four’s chart output in one year, four months and two weeks.

*       The Glee cast will claim the third-most appearances among all acts
since the Hot 100 launched in August 1958. Only Elvis Presley with 108
charted songs and James Brown with 91 rank ahead of the cast.

*       The Glee cast has sold 11.5-million downloads and over 2.8-million
albums, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

RICKY MARTIN AND MORE FOR NEW PSA

Ricky Martin, Elton John, Idina Menzel and Wanda Sykes teamed up with the
Give a Damn Campaign, a project of Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors Fund, for a
public service announcement focusing on hate crimes based on sexual
orientation and gender identity. They all speak out about the need to bring
an end to these senseless acts of violence and intimidation.

BRUNO MARS DROPS DOO-WOPS & HOOLIGANS!

Bruno Mars has released his highly anticipated debut album, Doo-Wops &
Hooligans.  The album’s first single, “Just The Way You Are,” has been the
number one song in the country for the past two weeks and follows some huge
hits that featured the singer, including Travie McCoy’s “Billioniare” and
B.o.B’s “Nothin’ on You.”  Mars told us about the best compliment he ever
received.

“When people say man your voice is something refreshing, it’s
really new, and as an artist what more can you ask for to be not categorized
maybe, or he sounds like this, he sounds like this, someone came up to me
and said I never heard a voice like yours, I think that’s the best
compliment you can get.”

IS GAGA AFRAID OF GHOSTS?

Here’s something from the
so-weird-it-can’t-be-true-but-it’s-Lady-Gaga-so-it-might-be file.  According
to Britain’s Grazia magazine, the pop star is so afraid of evil spirits that
she won’t agree to stay in a hotel or perform at a venue unless it has been
scanned for paranormal activity.  A source says that the “Bad Romance”
singer “won’t take any risks when she is on the road” and that it’s
“important to her to be safe from spirits.”

AMY WINEHOUSE BRINGS SHOW GOERS TO TEARS

Amy Winehouse surprised guests at a London charity show by taking the stage
and performing some tracks off of her forthcoming album.  According to
British paper the Daily Mirror, the embattled singer-songwriter reduced
onlookers “to tears” with her short set, only had one drink, and left by
12:30 AM.  The paper reports that she even had some nice advice to give to
the unsigned bands that also performed, telling them to never give up.
Winehouse’s follow-up to 2006′s Back to Black is due out early next year.

B.O.B. TO OPEN FOR JAY-Z AND EMINEM

According to Billboard.com, B.o.B has landed a great opening gig. The
“Airplanes” rapper is expected to warm up the stage for the first two Jay-Z
and Eminem concerts at Comerica Park in Detroit. Bobby Ray’s manager
recently tweeted that he will be at the Tiger Stadium tonight getting the
crowd ready for the two of hip hop’s biggest rappers.

Fantasia managed to earn the highest charting debut of her career despite
her recent suicide attempt. The American Idol alumna’s third album, Back to
Me, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 with sales surpassing
117-thousand copies. The singer recently told us why everyone will be able
to enjoy the disc in its entirety. Fans can expect the
second official single off the effort to be “I’m Doin’ Me” instead of the
previously confirmed song “Man of The House.”

KANYE TO DROP MOVIE WITH NEW ALBUM

MTV News reports Kanye West has filmed a movie in Prague to accompany his
upcoming album, Dark Twisted Fantasy. ‘Ye recently tweeted: “Been shooting
16 hour days. … I’m so excited. … It’s like a child’s delusions become
reality.” It’s still unknown what the flick is about.

YOUNG BUCK GOES BANKRUPT, SUING 50 CENT?

Young Buck recently filed for bankruptcy due to owing 300-thousand in back
taxes. The former G-Unit rapper is not only looking to get his finances in
order, but he’s looking to sue 50 Cent, G-Unit Records and ex-business
manager Bruce Seckendorf for breach of contract. His publicist told
XXLMag.com that “there is no lawsuit filed yet.” We’ll keep you posted.

BEYONCE STILL MANAGED BY HER FATHER

There have been conflicting reports suggesting that Beyonce and her
father/manager, Mathew Knowles, have ended their working relationship due to
personal issues. However, a rep from Music World Entertainment has released
the following statement, “Contrary to false rumors online, Beyoncé and her
manager Mathew Knowles unequivocally have had and continue to have a close
personal and business relationship. Mathew Knowles is the sole and exclusive
manager of Beyoncé.” There you have it.

KELLY PRICE EXPLAINS SUPER GROUP SPLIT

group failed because “too many people involved and the end result was we

EMINEM STILL NUMBER ONE ON HOT 100 CHART

Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna keeps pace to stay on top
of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a third straight week.  The song also
notches its sixth week at the summit of the Digital Songs chart, selling
another 300-thousand downloads last week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Katy Perry’s former chart-topper, “California Gurls,” remains at number two
on the Hot 100, while her new single, “Teenage Dream,” leaps 13 spots to
number seven.  Taio Cruz’s “Dynamite” holds at number three, while
“Airplanes” by B.o.B featuring Hayley Williams stays grounded at number
four. Enrique Iglesias’ “I Like It,” featuring Pitbul climbs one spot to

ALICIA AND SWIZZ HONEYMOONING IN FRANCE

BOB MARLEY RECORDINGS DESTROYED IN FIRE

BallerStatus.com reports several of Bob Marley’s master recordings were
destroyed in his wife’s studio complex in Ghana.  Tapes, recordings and
footage from performances were reportedly lost in the inferno.  There are
reports suggesting that the blaze was caused by an electrical issue.

WILL.I.AM TO RECEIVE THE PRESIDENT’S AWARD

Will.I.Am will be presented with the coveted President’s Award during this
year’s Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). The Black Eyed Peas member will be
recognized for making contributions that greatly impact the music and
entertainment industries.  The event will take place on Friday, September
10th at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. Other artists who have been

how he felt about the female emcee’s recent success.

hotter and hotter everyday, her records getting better and better everyday,

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE TO VOICE CARTOON

Justin Timberlake is set to voice a character on the Family Guy spin-off
series The Cleveland Show.  Co-creator Rich Appel told Us Weekly that the
character of “Terry” “falls in love with a guy voiced by Justin” and it’s
“hysterical.”  The episode will air sometime in the forthcoming season.

RAEKWON READIES CUBAN LINX RE-RELEASE

According to XXLMag.com, Raekwon has recruited several artists to appear on
the re-release of Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…Pt. 2. This time around, the
rapper has recorded two new songs, “Never Matter” featuring Bun B and “Rock
Stars” featuring Gza and Inspectah Deck. In addition, fans will get four new
remixes on the deluxe edition, including “New Wu Remix,” “Broken Safety
Remix,” “Penitentiary (Travis Barker Remix)” and “About Me Remix” featuring

ROSCOE DASH READIES DEBUT ALBUM

Roscoe Dash took the industry by surprise when he released “All the Way
Turnt Up” featuring Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em and proved that he can stand alone
on his second single “Show Out.”  The Atlanta native’s debut album, titled
Ready Set Go!, was initially scheduled to drop tomorrow, but it’s been
delayed until October 5th. The rapper is encouraging all fans to keep a look
out for the project.

RICO LOVE RECORDS WITH DR DRE, JAMIE FOXX

We’ve just learned Rico Love is currently in Los Angeles working with on new
material with Dr. Dre and he’s expected to team up with Jamie Foxx next week
for the follow-up to 2008′s Intuition. The hit songwriter is doing big
things these days with two smash singles that he wrote are receiving major
airplay – Usher’s “There Goes My Baby” and Kelly Rowland’s dance-track
“Commander.” We can’t wait to see what Rico cooks up for Jamie’s next album,
tentatively tiled Body!

THREE SIX MAFIA RELEASES “MONEY, WEED, BLOW” VIDEO

Three Six Mafia has released the video to their newest song off of their
upcoming project, The Cocaine Mafia Mixtape.  The track is called “Money,
Weed, Blow” and features New York-based rapper French Montana.  While
there’s no official release date for The Cocaine Mafia Mixtape, you can

CHRISTINA AGUILERA TALKS BURLESQUE

Christina Aguilera will make her feature film debut in the film Burlesque,
opposite Kristin Bell, Cher, Stanley Tucci and Eric Dane. She told us what
made her want to take the lead role in the film.  Burlesque will
