ST. PATRICK’S DAY DRINKS

Planning on celebrating St. Patty’s day this year? Make classic Irish drinks for you and your friends before you go out. Here are two easy recipes to get the party started. For the beer lovers, there is the Half and Half. Fill a glass pint with half a bottle of Harp’s Ale. Take a teaspoon, place it on the back of the pint glass and pour Guinness slowly over the back of the spoon, filling the glass up, and that’s it! For those of you who may want something a little different, there is the Irish Cow. This drink is as simple as it sounds. Just pour milk into a mug, add as much Irish whiskey as you would like and finish with a dash of sugar. These drinks are just a few of the many you can try this St. Patrick’s Day!

ST. PATTY’S FAMILY FUN

If your family is in the mood to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day but doesn’t want to spend a lot doing so, arts and crafts are the way to go! To get the luck of the Irish, create a lucky charm with your family. First, get regular polymer clay, preferably green. Roll three, one-inch balls of clay in the shape of a heart and smash the three ends together. Then place a paper clip on top of where the ends connect, but cover it up, only showing the bottom, giving it the look of a stem. Etch a center crease in the middle of the heart shapes, giving it a look of leaflets. Let dry and once it is, slide the paper clip end onto a split key ring and you can carry the charm with you everywhere! For more St. Patrick’s Day tips, go to FamilyFun.com.
