JAY-Z READIES DECODED BOOK

We previously reported Jay-Z was looking to release a series of books that
would describe the meaning behind some of his most controversial records.
Well it looks like Hov has completed the first volume, which is called
Decoded. The rapper’s first literary effort will hit bookstores on November
16th. In related news, fans can expect Jay to release a memoir and a
business book in the near future.

*       Jay-Z said in a statement, “When I first started working on this
book, I told my editor that I wanted it to do three important things. The
first was to make the case that hip-hop lyrics-not just my lyrics, but those
of every great MC-are poetry if you look at them closely enough. The second
was I wanted the book to tell a little bit of the story of my generation, to
show the context for the choices we made at a violent and chaotic crossroads
in recent history.  And the third piece was that I wanted the book to show
how hip-hop created a way to take a very specific and powerful experience
and turn it into a story that everyone in the world could feel and relate
to.”

KERI DROPS “BREAKING POINT” VIDEO

The official music video for Keri Hilson’s latest single, “Breaking Point,”
has just surfaced. The song will serve as the lead from her forthcoming
sophomore album, No Boys Allowed. It’s unknown when the disc will hit stores
but you can check out the Bryan Barber-directed video for “Breaking Point”
on YouTube.

TREY SONGZ ENTERS BILLBOARD 200 CHART

Trey Songz took the number two spot on the Billboard 200 chart after his Passion, Pain & Pleasure disc sold over 240-thousand copies. The “Bottoms Up” singer recently told us that thanks to the gradual success of his
previous albums, he had foreseen great things this time around The project also claimed the top spot on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

*       In 2009, Trey’s Ready opened at number three on the Billboard 200
chart, selling 131-thousand copies. Trey’s nearly doubled the first week
sales with Passion, Pain & Pleasure.

KANYE RESPONDS TO OBAMA’S “JACKASS” REMARK

In the new issue of XXL, Kanye West recalled his feelings when he heard that
President Barack Obama called him a “jackass” for interrupting Taylor Swift
during the 2009 MTV VMA’s. ‘Ye stated, “Obama was supposed to be speaking
off the record” and “has way more important stuff to worry about than my
public perception.” West added, “If he said that to relate to the room or
lighten the room up, then I’d be more than happy to be the butt of all of
his jokes if it in the some way helps his overall mission.” He understands
that he’s “a soldier of culture” and very “resilient.”

CHRISETTE’S NEXT ALBUM COMING IN NOVEMBER!

According to Rap-Up.com, Chrisette Michele announced that she’s titled her upcoming album Let Freedom Reign. We recently caught up with the singer to find out how it feels to be on her third studio effort.
Fans can expect the follow-up to 2009′s Ephipany, which opened at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, to arrive on November 30th.

WHAT CAUSED 50 CENT’S TWITTER OBSESSION?

In addition to revealing 50 Cent and Kanye West’s possible tour plans, DJ
Whoo Kid told Vibe.com what prompted Fif to become a Twitter-junkie. The
G-Unit member revealed that Curtis started tweeting heavily after “he got
the new iPhone and they put the [Twitter] app on there.” Kid explained, 50
“just started wildin’ out, once he saw how easy it was, that was it. Because
before, he had a Blackberry, he didn’t really care too much about going
online.” If you thought 50 would eventually calm down his tweets, the DJ
added, “Now that he has three-million followers, I’m assuming he’s trying to
break the five-million follower capacity.”

NELLY READIES FITNESS DVD

RapRadar.com reports Nelly is expected to release his first fitness DVD, Celebrity Sweat. The work-out tape will reportedly include routines to follow, various celebrities offering advice on how to stay fit and great
tips for guys to build up their chest and triceps muscles. If you need to get in shape, be sure to pick up Celebrity Sweat on Tuesday.

NEW NICKI SINGLE?

According to HipHop-N-More.com, Nicki Minaj sings on a new song called
“Right Through Me.” The track is rumored to be the next offering from her
upcoming debut effort, Pink Friday. Be sure to get your copy when it goes up
against Akon’s Stadium Music project on November 23rd.

DIDDY COLLABS WITH LIL WAYNE AND TIMBERLAKE

Rap-Up.com confirms Diddy, Lil Wayne and Justin Timberlake have joined
forces for a new single called “Shades,” which is off Puff’s long-awaited
Last Train to Paris. Similar to previous singles from the project, Sean
sings throughout the track with backing vocals from JT. The song is sure to
get fans re-interested in the Diddy-Dirty Money album Last Train to Paris,
which is slated to arrive sometime in December.

WILL.I.AM WANTS TO COLLAB WITH KANYE, KRS-1

According to BallerStatus.com, will.i.am expressed interest in wanting to
collaborate with Kanye West because he’s confident that if they “did
something together that would be crazy.” He added that their song could
“give us a license to do … just creative! No boundaries, no laws, just go
out and do things to get applause. That’ll be fresh.” In addition, the Black
Eyed Peas member also would like to create a joint effort with A Tribe
Called Quest or even better: “make a record with KRS-1 and go to Harvard for

WILL.I.AM WORKING WITH CHERYL COLE?

Are will.i.am and Cheryl Cole getting ready to team-up again?  According to British paper the Daily Star, the rumored couple is planning on working on the British pop star’s next solo album.  The Black Eyed Peas’ member already
appeared on four tracks on Cole’s debut effort, 3 Words.  The new album, tentatively titled Messy Little Raindrops, is set to be released before the end of the year.

SOUL TRAIN AWARDS COMING SOON!

For the second consecutive year, Academy Award-nominated actors Terrence
Howard and Taraji P. Henson are expected to co-host the Soul Train Music
Awards. The upcoming ceremony will celebrate soul music’s hottest stars and
pay tribute to legendary artists Anita Baker and Ron Isley. Be sure to tune
in for the special when it premieres on Sunday, November 28th at 9 PM
Eastern on Centric.

AVANT RETURNS WITH NEW MUSIC

SingersRoom.com reports Avant has announced that his sixth studio album, The Letter, will hit stores this winter. After recently releasing the lead single, “Kiss Goodbye,” the R&B vet promises that “the album is a letter
from me to my fans of what’s going on in my life, what’s going through my head and my struggles as a man.” Fans can expect the project to drop on December 7th. In related news, Avant is expected to perform “Kiss Goodbye”
on BET’s The Mo’Nique Show on Tuesday night at 11 Eastern.

SUNSHINE ANDERSON SURFACES!

ConcreteLoop.com has gotten a hold of Sunshine Anderson’s new single, “Lie
To Kick It.” The singer, known for 2001′s “Heard It All Before,” is looking
to drop her third studio album, The Sun Shines Again. The upcoming disc will
be her first effort in three years and is out on November 2nd.

LADY GAGA: PRESIDENT?

Could Lady Gaga become President of the United States?  According to British
paper the Daily Star, a professional handicapper in England has set the odds
at 100 to 1 on the pop star one day becoming Commander in Chief after her
efforts to repeal the U-S military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy.  Rupert
Adams says he would have given Ronald Reagan the same odds in the 1960′s, 20
years before he actually became President.

MAN STALKING MADONNA ARRESTED

An ex-firefighter was arrested for the second time in four days for stalking
Madonna.  According to the New York Post, Robert Linhart was picked up
outside of Madonna’s Upper West Side apartment with a sign reading,
“Madonna, I need you” and asking her to make his dream “come true.”  He’s
been charged with criminal weapons possession because he had two knives on
him.  Other charges include disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.  Learn
